That's ok, KJ. I won't tell Skipman you passed on Manning and took Hines Ward in the second round of the Gekko league too. Not hard to picture someone in San Diego being a Steelers fan.

First, The Zefurs drafted Duce with the 12th pick in the 1st round. That's right Duce Staley.
You claim you were worried about getting your 2 and 3 backs in the 2nd round, so you passed on Culpepper and drafted Hines Ward???? Am I missing sometime here. Besides drafting a WR, you could not have been too worried about your #2 back, cause you already drafted him in the 1st round.
To round out this backfield, you tacked on Dunn, S. Jackson and D. Foster. And you have the nerve to say, "I ended up with more depth than I thought I could get at RB."
KJ Duke, I am exposing you. You are a fraud. The real owner of the Zefurs please speak up and prove this dolt a phony. lol I've been waiting for the Duce criticism.
Now that all my drafts are over I am happy to explain.
Did I take Duce earlier than I wanted? yes, that's what happens when you get stuck with the #12 pick. Problem is, not everyone has the same player expectations as the consensus, which I guess you assume will be 100% correct.
I expect Duce to outperform D Davis and Westbrook and Barlow, so I took him #1 even though I didn't really expect him to go until late 2 otherwise.
With my 2 pick I took Hines because I felt I could get a quality QB in later rds much easier than a quality WR, and I planned to go with a WR-flex strategy. My plan was also to get depth at RB around 3 and 5, and if I take a QB at 2, I've got to be moving on my #1 WR at 3 and perhaps another at 4, thus pushing my RB's down to 5 and 6, which is what worried me in terms of quality depth. In hindsight, as I said, I would've preferred Culpepper at 2, but you don't know exactly how the draft is gonna play out until it does.
As for my RB depth, we'll see who is right, but personally I think Dunn can outperform Barlow and C Brown and Dillon and several others that across the board were going much earlier. DeShaun has already become a starter, as I expected he would before the year was out, and I expect the same for Jackson.
I understand the easy criticism of Duce at #1, but honestly I like the results. Duce did have a decent game absent the bizarre Jerome Bettis TD line, which will not happen every week. I expect Duce to end up with at least 10-15 TDs on the year and at least a top 10 RB ranking. In fact, I even liked Duce better than Deuce McAllister. Of course, no one would criticize taking Deuce 6 spots earlier because the consensus says he is worth it. Is he? He didnt score a TD in his final 4 games last season while averaging 62 rush ypg. First gm this yr = 57 rush yds, 0 TDs.
Take a look at the whole team, maybe you'll be less critical - if not now, wait a couple weeks.
QB/ Palmer-Brunell-Maddux
RB/ Staley-W Dunn-D Foster-S Jackson-T Fisher ($8)
WR/ H Ward-K Robinson-Clayton-Burress-K Washington
TE/ F Jones
Def/ Balt-GB
K/ Tynes-Hanson
I see my team as a QB rotation that is workable, 3 quality RBs with a 4th in the not-too-distance future w Jackson, 4 quality WRs, and top 5 to top 10 performers at the remaining positions.
And by the way, I'm not a Steeler fan at all, I just like what I see in their offense ... if I'm wrong, I'm obviously in trouble. So far, NFFC/ Auction/ Gekko, I'm 3-0. So how you doin' skippy?

Oh, I see, Tamu+Skipman = Lumpy, same division as me in the auction. Nice job week 1 ... if half your team plays opposite the worst D's in the NFL like they did last week you'll be unstoppable.

Hey KJ,
I enjoyed your draft strategy analysis. I can buy some of your agruements and I could very well be wrong on the others. One thing I can't see is Duce with 15 TDs. 10 maybe, but 15, no way. In 7 full seasons, he has only pilled up 32 TDs.
One correction, I am co-owner of Lumpy's Losers. However, TAMU is not, I repeat, is not my co-owner. My co-owner is Lumpy.
Unlike Gekko, I am not afraid to stand on my record. We were high score in both LV2 and our Las Vegas Auction league. We are middle of the pack in the Draft Master League which is only based on total points (no head to heads).
TAMU, are you guys the Dallas boys?

here's your record: never made a post before the season. after week 1 in which you had the high NFFC main event score, you start posting.
my take: you were a little girl before the season started. now you got "beer muscles". class act.

Gekko,
Since you are so curious, no I am not gay, so dont ask me out.
Second, I did not post before the season cause I had not been to the website. I was preping for the draft, which aparently you were not. I suggest that in the future you should spend less time yapping prior to the draft and more time doing your homework.
By the way, please let me know where you intend on drafting next year, so I can try to get in the league and abuse your punk ass again.

I see he is in the Gekko-Inv. too. He is behind me for now and likely for good if Faulk gives way to Jackson any time soon.
WOW ... while I'm on the subject, how can anyone (Tamu) criticize any pick after taking Faulk in rd 1 and not getting Jackson. Of course, he does have Troy Hambrick and Ron Dayne to fall back on ...
Duce - well with Philly last yr he had 7 TDs and averaged 8 touches per gm. I believe he had around 25 touches in his first gm for the Steelers ... so are 15 TDs out of the question?

KJ, if I were you I'd be worried about your own rb problems. Week 1 and your stud rb is already knicked up. I have Dayne to back up Faulk if need be, you have nothing to back up Alexander and if you think Morris will be as productive as Alexander you just keep thinking. You're ahead of me by 3.6 points and bragging about it. Have your fun now but just keep looking over your shoulder because I don't plan on being behind you for long.
