LET'S GET SOME SIGNUPS ROLLING!!!!

Let me first say that I am not yet signed up for any live events as of today, and I am guessing that most of you are waiting for the CBA to settled before you sign up as well. Since they don't hit your card till August (and I assume if the season start date was changed by the NFL, people could not be charged??)
However, I am OFFICIALLY planning on signing up (via the website), and as long as these occur on the dates scheduled (only the NFL would screw that up by not starting on time), I am full systems go! I am just waiting for a new credit card to arrive and put these leagues on (don't feel like changing it later).
Greg and Tom, you can put me down for the following.......
Via CHICAGO.....
Friday, 9/2 11:00 CST Live $850 Auction
Friday, 9/2 4:00 CST Live $850 DC
Saturday, 9/3 12:00 CST NFFC Classic
Sunday, 9/4 12:00 CST NFFC Super
Via ONLINE....
Monday, 9/5 6:00 EST NFFC Super
Tuesday, 9/6 7:00 EST NFFC Super
Via VEGAS....
Saturday, 9/10 10:00 PST NFFC Primetime Thanks Billy and we'll get you added to each of these soon. We will have a July 1st Early Bird special for folks who want to take advantage of the NFFC Special Packages and we'll see if we can add to them shortly with some more incentives. Honestly, Tom and I haven't been pushing for official signups until we had our web site finished, the Special Packages in place and our locations finalized. Now the NFL keeps throwing in delays with this stupid lockout, but it's time to get our folks on the board and their spots secured.
Look for Tom and I to start making more phone calls to you folks this week just to continue the conversation about 2011. We've been talking to many of you through the last few weeks just to make sure everyone is still planning for 2011 NFFC and so far so good. Everyone seems to be doing the same thing, waiting to sign up until they know more about the NFL lockout and in some cases until they know more about their WCOFF winnings from 2010 and those plans for 2011. I totally understand that and I'm not pushing anyone to secure their spots until they are ready because both situations are troubling.
But we definitely won't ask for any payment until Aug. 1st and if the lockout is still going on at that time we still won't take payments. We don't want your money, we just want your commitment if this lockout gets settled before Aug. 1st and that's it. Feel free to sign up through Tom or myself or online and we'll get more names on the signup list. I am confident that most of our NFFC die-hards will be back this year and that enough newcomers will join the NFFC Classic and Primetime to reach our modest goals in both contests. But Billy is right, it's time for us to call our customers and get those customers officially signed up. And if the NFL remains STUPID by Aug. 1st we'll all plan accordingly.
Thanks all. Look for phone calls from me and Tom this week and next and let's get together in 2011 for another fun, fun NFFC season.

Greg, just wondering what your true gut feeling is telling you. I don't have a good feeling about the season this year. ESPN has a quote from Ray Lewis where he says that crime will rise if there is no NFL season this year? What? Did he ever hear of college football? All they have to do is add some college games to Sundays...

They aren't obligated to help the NFL in any way, and I would be shocked if they played on Sundays.
As crazy as it sounds what Ray Lewis said I tend to agree with him. I mean I can tell you I will be a hell of a lot more irritable without football. Not saying I will go postal or anything, but I can definitely see some people not handling it well.

Well, it's simple it's called capitalizing on the situation. This is a new situation for everyone involved so I would not be surprised at all if College Football moved one or two prime games to Sunday's if there isn't any NFL this year...

Greg, just wondering what your true gut feeling is telling you. I don't have a good feeling about the season this year. My gut is telling me that both sides have extended their greed beyond the American public's beliefs and will enter dangerous territory come July. I also think the owners are resolved to hold on as long as necessary no matter how much damage is done to the game this year because they will never get this chance again to regain the upper hand in negotiations. And my gut tells me that the players' resolve will slowly crumble when they start missing paychecks, which means you'll see some type of settlement in late summer.
My hope is that both sides see the handwriting on the wall -- which is the fans getting so upset with this money dispute that they need to settle with both sides giving in on the dollar issues. My hope is that we'll get a deal done in July and save the season. My hope is that after the owners win in the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals in July and the players win a judgement on the TV contracts in June that both sides will give in and get a deal done by late July. My hope is that fantasy football players will get very excited about the short season of studying free agent signings, rookie impacts and Strength of Schedules and sign up for live events in August. If a deal is done in July, our fantasy football seasons will survive and thrive.
That's my hope and my gut reaction. But my gut also had a couple of brats, a couple of burgers, several different kinds of Miller beer and some licorice this weekend, so it might just be indigestion. Let's hope my gut is right.

I firmly believe there will be NFL football on Sunday this fall. BUT, if something happens and they agree to disagree, I firmly believe there will be college football on Sundays this fall. There are a lot of us out there that enjoy the college game as much as the pro game. There are a lot of instances during the college season when different networks have great matchups going on at the same time on Saturdays. If they are given another day to televise these matchups, why wouldn't they. There's almost a college game going on every night of the week. Unless there's something the NFL could do to prohibit this, I don't know why it wouldn't happen.
