Which Top Draft Picks Will Bounce Back & Which Ones Won't

Post by Tom Kessenich » Thu Sep 18, 2008 7:29 am

Tom Brady owners aren't the only ones feeling the pain of getting little (or no) production from an early round pick. There have been a number of top picks who are stinking up the joint. Using the NFFC's ADP list, I selected a group from the Top 25 picks in those drafts. Which of these players do you think will bounce back and which ones won't?

Most importantly, why do you feel the way you do?

1. LaDainian Tomlinson 1.05 22
4. Steven Jackson 4.77 22
5. Joseph Addai 5.77 22
15. Braylon Edwards 15.77 22
16. Larry Johnson 16.82 22
20. Maurice Jones-Drew 21.91 22
22. T.J. Houshmandzadeh 22.41 22
23. Ryan Grant 22.45 22
24. Peyton Manning 23.14 22

By the way, for those scoring at home that's 36% of the top picks who are underachieving thus far. Just goes to show you how crazy this game can be.

hey tom , told you before the draft i thought sjax was going to be a bust. peyton will bounce back in my opinion. this week will be a tell all bout mauice jones-drew. if he does not run well against the colts bad run def this week it will be a very bad sign.

Addai will be ok, average but fine...He is on the field most of the time in a high scoring offense, he gets receptions and has never had a humungous workload.

Braylon was on my avoid list, he probably won't bounce back to top 5 WR like last year, hopefully for his owners maybe top 15...You could see "1 year Wonder" in Derek Anderson...they play against tough defenses and mostly in cold weather.

Well two players on this list are hurt,Tomilson and Grant and the injuries are why they are doing bad.
I would think Manning will start to put up some big games considering they will have to throw to win.
I also think MJD will have big games here and there and this week should be a good one.Addai is my bust of the year and he's making me look good early, cant believe his ADP 5 was higher than Barber and Gore.

Steven Jackson is no bust. If he didn't trip over his own foot last sunday, he would have had a 66 yard TD run and everyone would be calling him a stud. He'll put up big numbers this year. the tough part of the Rams schedule is at the start, but they have a cushy schedule the second half. The Rams do suck, but they did before as well when he put up big fantasy numbers...

My two biggest concerns at the start ... and even now ... are

22. T.J. Houshmandzadeh 22.41 22 Bad team ... the team was falling apart before they got Henry back. I assume it's because the coach new the environment was all ready cancerous ... his numbers will improve ... but the situation will not improve quickly.

23. Ryan Grant 22.45 22 I think he was destined to share time with Brandon Jackson from the get go ... he is RBBC the rest of the year.

I have neither of these guys on any team. It's sad that I don't have B Jackson either because I was greedy and let him drop too far before I went for him.

i think addai will have a very good year.

edwards will do just fine (beginning in week 4 though).

LJ is a great back.. not on KC though. he'll be traded next year and be the next Randy moss in 09 comeback player of year.

Jackson is fine.

Tomlinson, if he plays fine, If i were SD, i'd sit him 2 weeks, get him healthy for stretch run.. period. if not it's going tobe tough all year.

Peyton will be fine.

Grant is a bust this year.. anyone could have seen that during pre-season.. hey he got his money, so he's not unhappy.
