Who's Coming To The 2010 NFFC In Chicago?
Hey Rob,
Great your going to be in Chicago!!!
Darryl and I are in for everything ... should be great. He is going to contact you by phone.
My thought's on the ponies are to keep it friendly ... most of us don't play the ponies ... so $10 to $20 bucks in a handicap contest seems friendly. Maybe you have 2 price points. Everyone plays at $10 and some can play for more if they want.
I am OK with whatever on the TV's (sound down or off) ... but as soon as it causes any draft interruptions (and it might) ... TV OFF is my vote. Ponies can be before and after the draft if it interferes with the draft IMO.
We will group for breakfast again on Saturday (and even invite Jeff this time) ... Darryl has picked a good spot 2 years in a row, so we should let him find a spot again!
Hold em for $20 seems to keep that friendly.
In the past we have hit a casino after the drafts on Saturday (including a couple of 3:00 am grand slams). Maybe we can improve on that.
More to come

Who's Coming To The 2010 NFFC In Chicago?
Okay, I just sent out a personal email to all of the owners who were in the Chicago NFFC Classic Auction League last year, inviting them to plan for this Friday, Sept. 3rd event at Trackside Arlington Park. It's time to get names on this list and plans in order. There's no doubt in my mind we will fill this auction league as each year it's a great, great competition.
We have five owners signed up and ready to compete and I know that several owners from last year's evenet will be back. David Dorman is the defending league champ and hopefully he will be back as he's not signed up yet, but David is 24/7/365 football so I trust he will return.
I'll welcome the five current owners in the Chicago Auction League in one fell swoop and then announce all new signups after this:
Jim Wiseheart of New Albany, Indiana won $1,300 last year as his team had the best record and the most total points through the regular season before falling in the playoffs. Jim loves the auction format and will do one at 11 am and 4 pm if we can get enough owners to do two. It's a great day to Play Two, right Ernie Banks?!!
Billy Wasosky of Richmond, Virginia had the second most total points and second best record last year in Chicago before also falling in the playoffs. BWaz is our Lifetime Standings leader in the NFFC Classic and always a tough one to beat in these auction leagues.
Darren Fecich of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania didn't compete in the auction league last year, but he won the Primetime regular season total points title and had the most combined points for his Classic and Primetime teams through 16 weeks. Heck of a year Darren and I know you'll love this auction format.
Jack Haan of Palos Heights, Illinois is an NFFC veteran who currently is battling for the overall Auction Championship prize in our baseball event. You can't get anything past this smooth operating lawyer, whose Bald is Beautiful team is regularly found near the top of the standings. Jack's team made the playoffs last year as the fifth seed, but lost in the h2h playoffs.
Wayne Ellis of Evansville, Indiana is signed up for the 4-pack in Chicago as well and ready to avenge last year's tough 5-8 finish in the Chicago Auction League. Wayne is another NFFC veteran who has had great success in all of the high-stakes contests and we wish him and everyone else currently signed up best of luck in the $4,000+ in league prizes and the $10,000 grand prize.
Now hopefully the rest of last year's competitors will jump in soon. We're all ready to get this league moving again as our first five signups are as good as they get. Thanks all and get ready for a fun, fun auction at Trackside on Friday, Sept. 3rd.

I will add this:
And the only reason Jack has $$$ to join the auction is because he got lucky and knocked out two better teams in Jim Wiseheart and Billy Wasosky in the playoffs last year and won some $$$ for 2nd place.

Yeah, I was surprised to see our top two seeds in Chicago fighting in the Third Place game. Bummer, but that's what the format was last year, h2h in the playoffs. This year could be a little better format though. Welcome back Jack and good luck this year.

Who's Coming To The 2010 NFFC In Chicago?
Okay, I just sent an email to last year's Draft Champions League participants from Chicago and will push hard to get our DCs filled in the Windy City. We are pushing for two Draft Champions Leagues in Chicago and we already have a couple of defending DC champions signed up. The tag team of Mike Ferre and Darryl Lechniak of Peoria, Illinois has won FOUR DC league titles through the years and they are the defending league champs here, finishing last year with 2,535.85 points. They now have a chance to earn even more money with the $10,000 grand prize we're providing this year. Mike and Darryl are signed up for the 11 am and 4 pm DCs and look to double their fun in this format.
George Kleemann is also signed up for both times after he led his Bobby Layne team to a third place finish in Chicago with 2,489.80 points. George is ready to go back-to-back at Trackside in this format. Rob Benetti finished second with 2,509.85 points and isn't signed up yet for the DC.
Others in this event who competed last year include Tony Guido of Plainfield, Illinois, Wayne Ellis of Evansville, Indiana and Billy Wasosky of Richmond, Virginia. Billy Opiola of Mosinee, Wisconsin is also signed up for the 11 am DC and he's another defending league champ as he won the Las Vegas Draft Champions League last year. Billy has drafted in Chicago in the past, but joined me in Las Vegas last year. He's returning to the Windy City in 2010.
Also competing in Chicago this year will be NFFC veteran Doug Berry of Plover, Wisconsin and newcomer Brian Owens of South Lebanon, Ohio.
I'm hopeful that my email will get past players back in the DC in Chicago soon. It would be great to get two full DC leagues in the Windy City. Let's make it happen. Thanks all.

Ted Kasten of Advanced Sports Media in Chicago, Illinois loves the Draft Champions format and he's returning once again for that contest in Chicago on Friday, Sept. 3rd. In fact, Ted is taking the Ernie Banks mantra as well and competing in both DCs in the Windy City. We now have a half full league at 11 am and five signups for the 4 pm draft. AWESOME. Ted has been a good industry friend for the last several years and we've worked with him in the past on his solid draft software. Welcome back Ted and best of luck in the hunt for the $3,600 league prize and the $10,000 grand prize.

Who's Coming To The 2010 NFFC In Chicago?
Scott Meyer of Coal City, Illinois jumped into the Chicago Auction Championship last night as we now have six owners signed up for that Friday, Sept. 3rd event. Scott is new to the NFFC, but we're glad to have him in this format and we wish him best of luck in the hunt for the $4,000+ in league prizes and the $10,000 grand prize.

Who's Coming To The 2010 NFFC In Chicago?
I'm going to give a special call out to Jim Mieszala of Slinger, Wisconsin this morning because I wasn't sure if Jim was going to be able to return to the NFFC or not this year. Jim has been a long-time NFBC and NFFC veteran who had some health issues last year and just before Week 13 he was heading to surgery with a chance to win his Chicago League 1 title. I wished him best of luck before he headed to surgery and sure enough he won $5,000 in Chicago League 1 and then had several months of recovery. He couldn't return for baseball, but I just talked to him today and things are looking better and he's going to return to Chicago on Saturday, Sept. 4th for the NFFC Classic main event. Congrats for beating two bad opponents last year Jim and welcome back. Stay healthy and good luck in your quest for another NFFC Classic league title.

C'mon, SEVEN SPOTS LEFT for this one. I know we can fill it again like we do every year.
