I'm curious what the drafter at 1.02 was thinking going with Gates in the 2nd round? Does he represent that much value over the other TEs there?
2008- Didn't finish last overall in the Classic.
2009- Didn't finish last overall in the Classic or Primetime.

4 biggest surprises in my book.....

1) Manning at 6
2) Westbrook at 12
3) Portis at 40 overall!
4) Boldin going to the S-Jax owner but not in round 2!!!!

Truly a lot of differences between these 3 drafts.

I actually don't think Gates is a bad value there....his last year's main event ADP was #30 and that was when people weren't sure if his QB was any good. Now, people believe in Rivers, so #27 doesn't seem bad. His is the only TE with a good shot at 1000-10. The problem I can see though, is that with 3RR (God Bless 3RR!) that owner doesn't pick again until the end of round 3 so he is passing up the chance to get a top RB2 or a good WR1. Under the old system he could get Gates and still pick a couple picks later to shore up another spot.
Three really different drafts.....great information Greg.....keep them coming!

Billy, while I agree it might be a tad high, being a Chargers fan, I see Gates having an "almost LT-like" season this year. Obviously not the insane number of TD's, but I'm sure you get the drift.

I'm surprised it's taken this long for Westbrook to finally crack the top 10. I've selected him 17th overall the past 2 season in the main and felt he was a steal both years. Of course, this will be the season he doesn't live up to the fantasy love.

Westy is someone I usually stay clear of in this year's drafts because he is normally going 5, 6, 7, 8...but at 12, I think that is pretty good value considering what else is out there.

Wayne Wayne,

I agree. It seems the drafter @1.14 was amazing. Atleast in the first 6 rounds!

Just to clarify, I don't think the Gates pick was a surprise (not sure how people thought I did).

I think getting Boldin with the last pick in the 3rd is GRAND LARCENY!!!!

In that latest draft, I noticed that the LT owner took Fitz and Bolden with their next 2 picks. This seems very risky to me.

Even though Boldin represents good value there, too many eggs in one basket for me.
