For this league's purposes in 2005, it is the team who was crowned champion.

Not saying I agree with it, and I have a feeling that is why the format was changed, but the best team DOES NOT always win (Colts in 2005).

Trust me, I dealt with this firsthand this year in a satellite league.

I have been on BOTH sides of the coin MANY times, and again, it may not be fair, but as we tell middle schoolers here.....

LIFE ISN'T FAIR....GET USED TO IT! ;)

Derek Andersen of Lumpy's Losers made a good suggestion that I should incentivize those loyal owners who do multiple leagues at our live drafts. You know, if you happen to win two league titles I throw in a free $650 Auction League or Draft Champions League the next year. If you happen to win three events I throw in a free NFFC main event entry the next year. If you happen to win all four events, I'll throw in a free Ultimate League entry. I like it and will be willing to do something like this.

That's where I like the Lifetime Standings that KJ Duke is putting together. Let's keep it going and keep the momentum on this rolling.

[/QUOTE]Waz,

I understand and totally agree with you. Some leagues have formats that factor in luck more than skill. I get that and as it relates to winning or losing the league and whatever prizes are involved, one has to be fine with it if they joined the league knowing the rules.

However, for this ranking system, you do not have to blindly follow rules that reward luck over real accomplishment. That league (or any others like it), regardless what was at stake, or how much first prize was, or what format was used at the end to create a crapshoot winning champion, we all know that total points is the best way to determine who did best in that league. Head 2 head record for the season would be second. The team who wins a 3 week total point playoff would be third, and coming in a distant forth would be a team who made it through a luck driven head 2 head elimination playoff.

All the players in those leagues are top players or past champions. So anyone winning the total points race in one of those leagues should be rewarded for it if you are going to come up with a NFFC lifetime standings list. being a totalk point champion in a CHAMPIONS invitational only league seems like a better accomplishment than even winning a regular NFFC main event league where you have no idea what quality players are in the league. Thats all I am saying.

You guys will do what you want to anyway...lol Just throwing out points and ideas...
