Oh, and Greg...could we start awarding a prize to the last player to arrive at the draft in NY? :D Since I'm the one who runs NY and since it's my blood pressure that's on the line there's no "prize" involved for being late. But if you're last and several minutes early I may be coerced into giving you easier access to the beverages. How's that? :D

This is high stakes fantasy football, not welfare fantasy football Everyone has their opinion on how we should split the money, but the goal is to keep increasing the pot so that we have more options. We all agree you need that big carrot out there for a grand prize. Hell, some owners want me to double it. We also agree that the league champ needs at least $5,000 and second place in a 14-team league needs at least double their money. Hey, your opinion shared by the masses about third place as finishing third in a 14-team league isn't welfare my friend and some of those third place teams also advance to the Championship Round, so it's important to increase that as well.

That leaves us with little money left for second through 10th overall, but in time those will move up as well. There's just so much of the pie to go around and remember that during the first three years we've paid back over 80 percent of signup revenue and that crap can't continue much longer! :D It's time we sell out and get back to the 75% level I first budgeted for. That will happen in 2007.

So while all opinions are appreciated on the prize payouts, the best thing you can do is bring more friends to the party and keep us growing each year. As we grow past 350 teams in the main event, the prize pool will continue to grow and we'll take care of all spots, if possible. Let's make 2007 a historic season and find a way to appease all of your suggestions.

i know there are many opinions on this subject. just wanted to voice mine
Agreed, but tell that to Eddie, Snake, Perry and others who wanted a little more lovin' than that! :D

I hear ya. Like I said, the goal is to get it all done soon and I'm working on that.

By the way, I told my kids yesterday that we gave one guy $100,000 for watching football and about $450,000 to everyone who loves football. In unison they said, "Dad, you should have kept that for us!" :D It's hard to argue with that logic! ;)

Another great thing I see already happening with the NFFC is to embrace its history. I know there is a link to "lifetime standings" and someone else on this thread already made mention of maybe having owner/player profiles that could possibly display their NFFC accomplishments or records. Again I am drawing from my years of experience in high stakes major bowling events... People like to see their own accomplishments highlighted and newcomers like to be able to view it as well and maybe aspire to build their own resume of success.

It connects a professionalism/importance to the NFFC that I assure you will appeal to everyone who can see it.
Tom, you know I'm always on my best behaviour at the draft and planted firmly in my seat when the opening bell rings. It's AFTER the proceedings start that I tend to disappear for a stretch here and there - especially when I'm in my usual draft slot on one of the ends. And I DID lobby to have the draft moved to A.C. so that you could alleviate your stress in a more suitable environment. ;)

As for easier access to the beverages, the "first" seat at the table next to the bar will be just fine with me. :D

I do agree with GG that the prizes for 2 thru 8 should go up. Any way you slice it $100k is a great 1st prize and I think an increase to the lesser prizes would attract more customers.

I also think the rules and point structure are basic and solid. I've played in a great many leagues that tweaks the point system too much to make it waaaaay too difficult to project players.

GG: Just luv your posts. Although in person you seem very quiet---I sat in the #1 position in the $650 Vegas Auction and rarely heard a comment from ya as you continually bid on Giants players. I offer ya a beer if you show up for the NFBC and wax poetic!
