Hey Mike, if you have any ideas, feel free to share. I'm up for any ideas for the next pool. I'm curious why $175 though????

How about just selecting a draft order instead of the actual teams? I know there's still a lot of luck involved and that if you get stuck at number 30 you're in a tough spot, but at least there's some sense of control in terms of which MLB team you pick.

Just a thought. Sounds like you have a ton of experience running these things and they definitely sound like a good time.

Thanks for putting them together.

If you decide to do something like this, I'll take picks 29 and 30. In a blind luck league like this, I'll take the culls... :D

Bill hit it right on the nose. I've run many of these pools and everyone wants the RedSox or the Yankees or the Angels or whoever they feel scores the most. This contest is completely random. A team can score 12 runs, 30 times in a row and it would one count as one "Hit" in this contest. I've seen the A's, the BlueJays and the Marlins win the whole thing here. Any kind of draft wouldn't help odds at all for anyone.

I agree; not often the Yankees or Sox will score 0, 1, 2 runs. They will fill the higher end just as other teams will fill the lower end. It's the random team that hits the numbers they should not expect to hit that wins a pool like this.

Pete Pete, you do know that there is a more sophisticated fantasy baseball contest going on right down the road, don't you? ;) And you do know that it is headed toward an 8th straight sellout, don't you? We have room for 74 more to reach 390!!! Or we even have friendly 12-team NFBC drafts for you and others. Check 'em out at nfbc.stats.com!! ;)

If you haven't sent your checks, please do so soon and I will set up the website in the next week or so. If you don't have my address, please email me with your full name and nffc name so I can save your email address for the pool. [email protected]

Marc - You might want to start putting a ** next to the names of players you received payment from like you did with the super bowl boxes. That seemed to work well.

Keep us posted here too if you do start a $150 pool. Three winners getting a free NFFC draft is something I'm sure I would be interested in.

Pete, the "*" is always my form of showing you guys who paid. The reason why there are no asterisks yet is because I haven't received a check yet. Lol. But I'm on it, I promise.

*Also, for everybody who's interested in the $150 MLB Pool...What I'm planning on doing is waiting until I have this first pool totally set up and paid up before I start the $150 pool. Even if baseball is already started, there's PLENTY of time to fill that second pool. I suggest everyone check the messageboards once or twice a week to check the status of the pools. I think @ $150 we can have THREE Main Event prizes. But we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
