that is the only thing i liked about the wcoff.. i don't like the playoff systems of hte NFFC however of course im done with the wcoff after they paid me so late.. they lost my business.

keep the events you've had, but on the 12 team formats greg, you have to conform to what people are used to playing.. that will bring in your online players and bring over the wcoff players because right now those that are not playing in the wcoff are leaning toward the FFPC events, it's more in line with the standard customary
I'll let other NFFC owners comment on your suggestion above Mike, but I'm not sure duplicating what WCOFF set up is ever what I want to do here. I know some folks are used to the 11-week season and h2h for two weeks of playoffs, but is that really the best high-stakes format? Do you really think the best teams in each league win their league titles that way?

In the NFFC Primetime, we play 13 weeks of a regular season and if you have the best h2h record and most total points in your league you win $5,000. In another contest, you can go 11-0 in h2h and have the most total points after 11 weeks, win only $2,000, lose your first playoff game and barely get your entry fee back. Is that the best setup? I'm not a fan of league playoffs in a h2h format because honestly there's more luck in that format than the way we have it set up.

Maybe I'm wrong and I'd love to hear from more owners on this. But as a player, I want a setup where I get rewarded when I dominate my leaguemates. Why do I have to dominate them during the regular season and then hope for two lucky weeks of h2h play? Heck, I thought most of you hated straight-up h2h play!!!

We'd love to invite WCOFF owners to check out our rules, check out our playoff formats, check out our payments and compare them to the other contests. Mike, I'm not sure everyone wants a h2h playoff format to decide the league champion. Again, I might be wrong Mike, but let's find out. Let me know folks and we'll throw it into the think tank.

I for one think you need not change the way teams are chosen to move on Greg. It seperates the NFFC from the other contests and I don't think we need what may end up being two primary contest choices to be identical.

Having some differences allows us to see who truly can play well across all set ups. When I cashed in all three contests it was personally fairly gratifying. Keeping distinct differences in the Classic from the FFPC offering is not bad for either entity imo.
I agree 100% Greg.

The FFPC runs a great contest, but that is the one thing that I don't like about their contest.

If I dominate for 11 or 13 weeks why should I have to hope that I don't have a bad first week of the playoffs or run into a buzzsaw??

Everyone knows that after week 13 ALL the contests reset, and it turns into a "who gets hot" and ANYONE can win it (for example, 2 years ago, the team ranked dead last going into the playoffs won it all here! )

I know the "football purists" say, "well it's like the NFL playoffs, if you have a bad week, you are done". Well I hate to burst people's bubble, but FANTASY football is NOT NFL football.

If I could "gameplan" for my opponent, replace a player who tweaks a hamstring in the first quarter, etc. then fine, I would be fine with having the 4 teams playing H2H in the playoffs, but not when I dominate for 11 weeks, and only get me money back.

I would vote to keep it as is, Greg. The NFFC is unique with 14 team leagues, KDS, 3RR, .5/PPR for RB's and that points are most important for prizes (ALL great things!!!)

You have already conformed a bit in making the 12 team events a full PPR (which should bring in more that are used to that)......keep the rest as is. :D

What Billy and Wayne said.

Damn Billy, you had to go and burst my bubble! :D

I had visions of being Al Davis. Well, I'm still old and senile.

Agree with Billy,Wayne and Russ here.
Totally.
JMO,but H2H in playoffs just sucks, and a two or three week total points system for playoffs is much more fun to me.
I have been on both ends of these outcomes, and i think total points is both more fun and rewards the better teams more often.
The best league playoff format on the planet is right here,IMHO.

Scott DEFINITELY TODAY!!! It's all done and we will start the signup thread TODAY!! The site looks great. Thanks for your patience all, but it's ready to go.

Oh, and just as an add on, we will have Special Package deals for signups before July 1st, but we aren't taking any payments until Aug. 1st. We want your commitment, not your money!! We will only run payments on any early Slow Drafts, NFFC '60s or Satellite Leagues that run before Aug. 1st. But everything else you can sign up now, secure your spots in those leagues and not worry about payment until Aug. 1st.

Now, LET THE SEASON BEGIN!!!
