How about a free Rotoworld Draft Guide/Season Pass for the first 250 signups?

Greg has flown the coup. Or just taken a flight to New York.
I can say expanding the days is something we've talked about for the future. We'll see what happens. And Glenn, you never know what might happen with that draft guide idea. Stay tuned.

Greg/Tom,
I know the satellites fill up very quickly. One thing I'm stuck with is which ones to sign up for. I have "X" amount of dollars for this coming season, and I'm not sure if I should sign up for the satellites provided already, or wait to see what the "online main event" is going to look like and how much it will cost. Any news on the online event?

Nothing's set yet, Marc. We will have NBC satellite leagues so if it's the 12-team format you want, I think you can safely hold off on things for awhile until we establish a schedule. We have a lot of things we want to do but there's a lot of work internally that will need to be done first. I don't want to give anything away just yet but let's just say if you like satellite leagues, you're going to LOVE what we have planned for 2008.

Thanks Tom. I'll make sure to check for new info on the satellites.

Ok, all fun aside, I think this move by NBC is genius. Let me just add to this. Think about where NBC Sports and NBCSports.com was just three years ago and where they are today and you can understand this move a little better. Three years ago before NBC Sports got the Sunday Night NFL contract, it had NO presence in the fantasy sports space. None. No games, no fantasy content, nothing, while ESPN, CBS and Fox were rolling in customers through their fantasy offerings over the previous decade.
NBC Sports made the wise move to acquire Rotoworld.com three years ago and had instant traffic to their fantasy space and ideal fantasy content along with a few games. Together they grew the fantasy content site, increased advertising revenue and created a few unique fantasy games like the free contest with a $100,000 grand prize last football season.
Now we come along and they see an opportunity to be a leader in the live high-stakes events, while possibly adding in more online fantasy games. They have a chance to now be a leader in the games area three years after not having a single fantasy game. I think there are many ways we can work together in this space. And beyond that, well, the sky is the limit. F+W Publications has data bases of every single collectible in just about every single hobby field and NBC has Bravo.com and many other sites just looking for content. Think outside the box like we are doing and honestly this could be the start of a very good relationship. [/QUOTE]Good post, Greg.

I found this post to be quite good.

Greg/Tom
Hopefully you're not worn out from this thread already because I've got a couple of questions.
First and foremost I'm extremely happy for both of you. You've really promoted a "family atmosphere" in the last 4 years built on personal relationships... and that will remain strong whatever the future landscape holds IMO.
This is a "kodak moment" and will be interesting to look back on in 5 years to see how far we've come. Based on your hard work and MB sh*t shoveling alone...you're both soooooo deserving of this accomplishment!
OK....my questions........
1)With the 14 team format being so unique and still unfamiliar to the market...are you worried the concept will lose momentum to the point of becoming obsolete? (I sure hope not) I only ask because of the 12 team offerings now available.
*If you see this happening will you fight for a higher grand prize or something to keep 14 team events alive?
2)One thing I noticed as a possible advantage to the partnership is a greater legal presence that might be helpful in any future disputes over player stats. Does that have any substance or am I reaching?
Thanks for the last 4 years. I've trusted you guys from day one with no disappointment....I don't see that changing now!
BTW Greg....my plans keep changing but there's a reeeeeeal good chance I'll finally get to meet you in Vegas this year.
