At what point in the week would you have bye week players replaced with non-bye week players? Tuesday at 9am? After Wednesday FAAB? After Friday FAAB? Sunday at 1pm?
Suppose an owner has Reggie Wayne in their lineup and Wayne has a bye week. Also suppose the owner has 3 WR’s, 2RB (Leon Washington and Larry Johnson) and 1TE (Owen Daniels) on his bench. How do you determine which player gets started? Does the player fill the flex spot?
What if the owner WANTS to start a bye week player? The best system would be an automatic lineup "optimizer" that runs every week on Tuesday at 9 a.m. Each week, the optimizer will place the highest average scoring players in your lineup. Anyone on a bye or IR will remain on the bench. After Tuesday at 9 a.m., owners are free to change their lineups as they see fit. If they want to start bye week players for strategic reasons, so be it. [/QUOTE]Hate this idea, here's why.
There's already many many players posting WDIS.
So now guys will join and let the system play out the season, minus ww pickups really nothing to do.
Leave as is.
To many hands kill the Game, or something like that.
PS. Sorry than it's just a DC Main League.

Is it possible “the system” would be inputting players that are hurt/out multiple weeks into the starting lineup (Westbrook, LT, Cooley, etc…)?
What if an ELIAS change issued on Thursday makes a new player have the highest average scoring average and the owner loses because that player wasn’t input automatically?

However, say a team only has ONE defense, and they are on bye. The owner doesn't pick up another D, and then there is a zero (same as starting a bye week player). It would certainly help more than it does now.
Problem is people are looking for a GUARANTEED way that bye week players will not be started and it simply DOES NOT EXIST.
You would think shelling out $1,300 would do the trick, but that obviously isn't the case.

Make total points scored side bets with folks in your league (or other league) that run through 16 weeks.
I'm out of the hunt for league money...but my side bet has me fighting tooth and nail for another six week!

You would think shelling out $1,300 would do the trick, but that obviously isn't the case. As per my previous post, there is no perfect system. A lineup optimizer would help the situation, but not completely solve the problem. In my opinion, it's a step in the right direction.

PS. Sorry than it's just a DC Main League. The Optimizer would only provide an INITIAL lineup for the upcoming week. It wouldn't take matchups, injuries (other than IR) or anything else into consideration.
Maybe people are too attached to leaving their lineups the way they were the week before!

I think the "initial auto lineup setting" running at 9am on TUE would be the best step...but I also think there would still be plenty of moaning and groaning next year...pointing out all the flaws still remaining.
If the programming and implementation is reasonably cheap...why not.
I just feel it will still give some teams assistance and other teams less, and the crying would be damn near the same next year around the same time, as teams have to go through the denial part before the acceptance part of understanding they had a poor fantasy season (or team), and letting go.
Ramping up for next season as we speak!

Not sure why some are using the word "DC" when comparing this?
- In a DC you make ZERO decisions, this would obviously still be your lineup to control how you see fit.
- You wouldn't get ANY points that were on your bench.
- It would eliminate MANY more problems than now (people being "lazy" and leaving bye week players in), but isn't "fail proof".
