I DON'T HAVE HIM, BUT I HAVE WILLIAMS AND IM TIRED OF SEEING 3 CATCHES FOR 30 YARDS. IM BENCHING WILLIAMS.. I'D RATHER GO WITH LLOYD AND THE EVER IMPROVING CHICAGO BEARS. Don't worry Weber, it is only a matter of time before Roy gets hurt, and even thinking about playing him won't even be an option.

I avoid Roy EVERY year, but I admit he is not being utilized at all in that offense. If they go to a QB change, it can only help IMO.

It sucks when you take someone like him early, and he doesn't produce.

The problem with Roy Williams & even Calvin Johnson is the fact that Kitna is the QB. I used to like him, that I even drafted the ***** last year as my starting QB. I watched the Lions play and Kitna is an erratic QB who has more determination than actual skills. He does wanna win but he plays the game like its on a playground and this does not bode well for the Lions organization.

Their are other options in the NFL, unfortunately they are all under contract. Possibly Chris Simms, not that he is the messiah, but an upgrade over the current Lions backup QBs.

I do have Calvin on the 14 teamer so I hope a change for the better is in the future. Calvin is an elite receiver who deserves a good QB.

I'm not sure if it's one year after another of losing a 1st or 2nd (or both) round pick to injury so early....or making lineup mistakes too often....or realizing that I may just not be very good at the hobby I typically enjoy so much.

I'm sure others have had far worse luck than I have and I don't mean to cry the blues but this is new territory for me.

I've never had a problem getting jacked up for football before. Do they make a type of Viagra to give ya a woody for football again because I need some inspiration. Jeff, if this hobby is bringing you down, then definitely take some time off. But I think I know what's ailing you. It's the combination of your favorite NFL team losing on Sunday's at home along with your fantasy football teams struggling along with the economy going bust along with on and on. It's fun when the fantasy football team can pick you up when the job isn't going well or the Colts are losing, but when those teams are just as depressing then you are right it's time to drink or time to walk away.

I'll say that after EVERY Packers' loss I hate life. Hate waking up. Hate going to work and hearing everyone talking about the Packers' loss. Hate looking at my fantasy football teams and seeing Ronnie Brown on my bench. But then the next week rolls around and another set of games awaits me. It's a good feeling.

Hang in there and keep plugging along. The season is a long one and lots can change in a hurry. But when it's no longer fun for you, then definitely find something else to do.
[/QUOTE]I don't know how much SKILL is involved with this game but I do know LUCK plays a much larger role in it than fantasy baseball. On the flip side of being upset with your teams, I had 2 teams I was upset with after the draft thinking I had just paid money and assembled 2 last place teams. Did I know M Forte was going to be this good through 3 games?? NOPE.

Then there are the 2 teams that I drafted M Colston and yes injuries are so deflating. Couple that with a Packers loss to the hated Cowboys and the fact that I can't find a gas station to fill up my car, and yes I'm not the happiest on a Monday (you'd think I was losing my health or something really meaningful was happening to me). Did I mention I hated seeing the Cowboys win for the 1st time at Lambeau...ugghhh. Surprisingly, my wife puts up with what she calls my "mood swings" quite well. Last night she says, Colston will be back in another 3-4 wks, the Packers play in a much easier division than the Cowboys and will see them again in the playoffs, and of course there is always next week to look forward to.

Anyways, hard to believe this game of skuck (skill and luck?) gives us the highs and lows that it does.

You are a good guy, a solid fantasy player and I have enjoyed reading your posts here over the course of the last 5 years.

Obviously, things get frustrating when things do not go your way in fantasy sports. Also, as Snake has mentioned, injuries just suck the enjoyment of participating. These are things that are out of your control.

I suggest maybe you do what I did for this year and that was not reading into all BS and hype of all of the websites in the summer leading up to the draft and use your own logic as a fresh approach. That is what I did this summer.

Furthermore, the use of the ADP lists should just be a tool to see where players are being selected by the masses. Ofcourse, you should probably adhere to them in the first few rounds but don't let these scripted lists stop you from reaching for players a little sooner than what the lists are saying. Alot of people are drafting on last years results and what the "experts" are saying...

For example, look at guys like Ronnie Brown & Willie Parker. They went from the 1st round to the 3rd round and well beyond that. That goes for any position.

I don't think their is any iron-clad formula to be successful other than having a well thought out game plan prior to the draft, some luck with keeping healthy, and the ability to make smart moves using the waiver wire. Once you have a "playable" team, then the questions of "who do I start" comes into play....I have yet to master that but hopefully will get better!

At any rate, best of luck for the rest of the season, I hope you turn it around and have some enjoyment watching your players do well from here on out.

Lastly, I hope to see you back next year, and better than ever! this advice should be implanted in all brains that don't already have it implanted. i read this and the first thing i thought of was baseball and "ALBERT PUJOLS".

Roy in most others.. so yes i get pissed at watching Kitna.. thats my point, i should have went by my own gut and just drated Calvin every squad.. i picked him to be a top 8 wr this year, yet he's only on one of my teams.. lol.

To that person and that person only do I tip my hat and toast them as a person of skill. I don't think there's anyone that has quit their job to make a living off of playing (like poker) and your comment has more to do from suffering from fantasy burnout. I've seen this happen to many over my 20+ years running games. It can happen to anyone, at anytime, and thankfully, most recover.

This is still a hobby and should be viewed as such. We all want to win rather badly, but only 21-25% can cash in any nffc/nbc league.

What's happened now is the level of play has naturally intensified after 5 years here, and now even the best owners aren't cashing at a rate they're used to. Look at the owners in LV2 here. LV3 in baseball is very similar. So many great players, someone has to lose.

Everyone deals with the burnout in their own way, but FI$HER had some good advice and was something I actually did two years ago.

I don't pick up/read hardly anything until 3-4 weeks before the season starts. Just too much useless info and anything relevant sorts itself out right before the draft when I cram crazy like. I get that much needed break and have been really pumped the last two years to play.

FF has always had a ton of injuries and a huge part of the skill is to expect and plan for them, whether they're your players or some other teams players. I guess I look at this differently than most.

I think you'll be fine after you get some kind of break..... Good Luck

There is always something that we can get down and out about. Our fantasy team could lose, our favorite team can suck, we can select the wrong players and watch our bench blow up...but no matter at the end of the day 99.9% are gonna be counting the days till next Sunday and we will once again be yelling at the T.V like little kids, and have both moments of joy and anger... One thing that we need to remember is, its a hobby...not life. Hurricane Ike is life...Family, and friends are life...Worse case scenario is you can find a team that sucks more than yours and start sending PM's about how bad there team is...it might make you feel better...just don't do it to mine. Thanks!

And my teams are off to poor starts too. I just think it could be the incredible highs and lows of ultra high stakes fantasy football that and burn us out sometimes. It has not yet happened to me but I can respect when it happens to others.

As for Ronnie Brown... I think he was likely in the lineup for weaker teams where they had few good other options. The stonger, deeper, better drafted teams likely had him on their bench because they had more viable options on the bench.

Hang in there.. if it were not for the down times in fantasy football the up times would not feel so great...

YEAH JEFF JUST KEEP YOUR HEAD UP. IT WAS A HONOR MEETING YOU IN CHICAGO ALONG WITH FACILITATING WITH YOUR BROTHER BRIAN.

HECK I FACED RONNIE BROWN IN BOTH MAIN EVENTS WHAT ARE THE ODDS OF THAT.

I STILL HAVE A CHANCE TO PULL IT OUT TONIGHT HOWEVER.

THAT IS WHAT I LIKE IS THE RUSH AND THE ANTICIPATION OF WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT.

I GIVE AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT SUCKED FOR ME THIS YEAR.

I DON'T KNOW IF YOU CAUGHT THE PACKERS/VIKINGS GAME BUT WHEN RODGERS HIT DRIVER ON THE LONG T.D. PASS AND IT WAS CALLED BACK THAT COST ME VICTORIES IN NOT ONE BUT BOTH MAIN EVENTS.

HOWEVER IF IT COULD HAPPEN AGAIN I WOULD LOOK AGAIN BECAUSE LIKE R-MAN SAID IF IT WASN'T FOR TIMES LIKE THOSE THE HIGH ONES WOULDN'T BE SO SPECIAL.

HOWEVER I DO SEE YOUR POINT.
