2007 Draft Slots ~ presented by UFS

Note: weeks 14-16 will take much more time because the Playoff totals are skewed because they include that dang avg. I need to pull each week, put them into a sheet and ad them for each team and them splice them into the other chart.

This will take more than tonight.

My first thought was that I shouldn't (see above) but now that every team has had there bye, it might be OK and I will update it later this year anyway.

How can I say no to GG? ;)
There were byes Week 10 last two years.

The argument back then was about 3x as bad because player performances are more definable in hoops.

The argument has vanished since then.

3rr would work best for FB. Owens or Wayne to LT and LJ, or Owens and Wayne to Portis and Westbrook?

That right there evens things out.

This is a no brainer. It ends the debate about which pick is best.

With any bidding system, any owners that feel pts/faab is more vauable not spent before the draft will never get to pick 1-5. Never.

That is not a fair allocation of draft slots.

thx for the analysis Ted, but as I've said before, using data from the entire draft creates irrelevant statistical noise. After 4 rounds it's a free for all, slot doesn't mean much.

I'd be interested in seeing scoring from the first 4 rounds (with injuries notated); that is where slots makes a difference. i'm not sure i buy that. noise (if random) should be equally distributed between all draft slots, correct?
Over a large enough population it would even out, but random error in a small sample size can be highly significant in skewing data.

If Colston is selected in the 15th round by the team drafting from slot #14, does that say anything about the value of that slot? I don't think it does, all slot positions had many opportunities to draft him. It wouldn't necessarily even out.

As for the rest of this thread, it's good reading for a guy who is tending to the sick. I don't mind any new ideas, even if I do form my own opinions before the static hits! :D
