Early Plans For 2011 NFFC

Post by Shrink Attack » Sat Feb 12, 2011 12:20 pm

I absolutely hate it when people think it's so "great" to plan an event (like a wedding) over a holiday weekend. They think they're doing everyone such a big favor that they don't have to rush back to work on Monday.

Well guess what? I don't want my freakin' holiday ruined by you're event! If you want to screw up your own Holiday, then fine. But how about leaving me out of it?

I've just been informed by my wife that the NEXT TWO LABOR DAY WEEKENDS ARE ALREADY BOOKED FOR WONDERFUL EVENTS THAT I'M OBLIGATED TO ATTEND.

That's right guys...these wonderful people are seeing to it that I can't attend a live NFFC draft for the next two years. Totally screwed.

Does that suck or what?

Dont worry Shrink, when they go to 18 games we'll be drafting second or third weekend in August:). Those are my families weeks at the shore in Delaware so I will have some family finagling to do.

I am in the burbs in Chicago so it doesnt matter. If I had a choice I would vote downtown. It will be hard to find a good hotel for under $200 a night in the loop or around Michigan ave. which is where you want to be. Oakbrook would be my second choice for the out of towners. Lots of resturants. Wasnt a fan of Rosemont but truth be told if you have the draft in a rest stop parking lot I'll be there.

Lockout is a given though. The owners did not like the deal last time and no way are they getting anything less than what they want and they know what they want.

Don't be so sure.

2 less preseason games and add on 2 regular season games seems like the exact same start time.

I would LOVE middle of August (or even a week earlier) as it would be much easier for me to manuever. :D

Wow is Tom a true NFFC homer or what. 6 straight posts discussing Chicago location with nothing from Tom. 1 post about NY and Citifield and look who shows up.
Greg I think Tom is in a rut and needs to be moved to Chicago this year. It is closer to home for him after all! :D

Honestly, I trust all of you in Chicago to give us the best advice as to where you'd like to see us host the event. We'll do what we can but you guys know the Chicago area better than I do.

[/QUOTE]Is it possible to get back to the Oakbrook Marriot. Obviously from the posts that is the choice of the Chicago masses. I don't know who will be in charge of Chicago but maybe you can sub-contract Rob. I guarantee he has what it takes to put it all together!

If Rob's looking to be a sub-contractor have him contact Greg or myself and we'll figure something out.

We'll definitely look into the Oakbrook. Like you said, that appears to have been a popular destination in the past so we'll check it out and hopefully we can make it work. We'll definitely keep exploring our Chicago options to find a good spot for everyone.
