Greg, if there is only a 9 game or abbreviated NFL season this September, will some of the contests like the Main change, i.e. price point, rounds, rules, etc?

SS We're not planning for any abbreviated season. It's a full season or nothing for the live events. Just stay positive and plan accordingly.

I will throw in my feedback... I have drafted every year since year one in NYC.. so I cannot speak about the other cities.

I have to agree with Glenneration x. I have made this point many times over the years in the past. For me, NFFC draft weekend is about hardcore fantasy football. What happens this day defines much of my fun and happiness through the fall and into the holidays. It isn't about food, it isn't about booze, it isn't about sightseeing. I have always enjoyed my NYC experience and think Tom has always done a great job whether it be just managing a great event or dealing with some last minute crisis.

I would argue that the reason NYC has had the highest number of participants has little to do with the draft being in Manhattan and everything to do with the number of serious fantasy players and guys willing to gamble on this game at high stakes who reside in the metro area. I think you could have the NYC draft take place in a volunteer fire dept hall in NJ near the Meadowlands and get the same number of entries if not more.

I have always wanted all my entry money to go toward being able to create as PROFESSIONAL and serious a football drafting experience as possible and to the prize fund. I don't care about wings, or chicken fingers, or beer, or model chicks putting stickers on the draft board. I can enjoy all those other things on my own time. If I want to go sight seeing in NYC (or Chicago) I will do it on my own time. I am not at the event to be a tourist.

If I am investing $3000+ into fantasy football I want it all about the football drafting experience and the prize fund. As for the NYC location. I agree with Glenneration that moving it out of Manhattan and near a casino or on the outskirts of the city or into some catering hall in NJ near the Meadowlands (it still could be marketed as a NYC location just like the Giants and Jets are) would make sense.... Why not take it just west of the city to the Poconos at one of the new Casinos? I have seen them advertising on some fantasy websites hoping to draw an event.

This would save people the commuter issues, the massive over pricing on everything with parking, hotel rooms, food, tolls, call girls, etc. Unless I am missing something I would assume this would also save money/expense for the NFFC for the draft site. Then we could utilize all that saved revenue in different ways to improve the drafting experience, improve prize funds, or get Tom the new car he deserves.

ps. I hope I get my 2010 checks soon I need new golf clubs!

I agree with a lot of the comments said about Chicago.

a) I thought Arlington was a great place to draft because of the draft room space, power up ability, free parking and location (a five minute drive from the hotel).

b) I feel we should forget the $50 food service and let everybody fend for themselves.

c) If we do away with the food, be sure and have the draft in a location where food is close.

d) I appreciate all the concerns about out of towners having the draft in the same hotel we are staying, but i felt Arlington from Schaumburg wasn't that much of an inconvenience.

e) If the draft could be done at a hotel near the airport with a large meeting room with power up capability and food near by, maybe all of our concerns could be answered.

f) I totally agree with Rob's comment about the camaraderie that will form with having the draft in a hotel. If drafters have the opportunity to enjoy the hospitality of fellow NFFCer's as i did last year, they will be hooked forever.

g) phone conversation between Bubba and Bart Scott.

Bubba: Bart, Are you coming to the NFFC draft in Chicago this year and partake in the festivities with us Thursday night?

Bart Scott: CAN'T WAIT

This isn't related to location but I would like to make a suggestion for next year's drafts. If everyone is in agreement prior to the draft, why not let everyone use power strips for the drafts so that computers aren't running out of battery life before the draft ends. This is really a big deal during the auction. It's just a thought and I fully understand if there aren't enough power strips available then you can't do this. But it just seems kind of silly not to allow anyone to use power if it's readily available and there are more than enough outlets.

I have a few event location questions, event rules questions, and other pertinent feedback I need from you folks first. UYT I completely agree. We all find ways to eat the other 364 days of the year. I would think it would be easy for anyone who wants to bring something to snack on during the hours of the draft do just that. If food service severely impacts or limited draft locations I agree with UYT that those resources be saved. We can all go out to eat before or after the draft right?

The other thing is we see so many people basing their draft location opinions or views of their experience on the food service. I don't think the NFFC experience should be defined so much by the cold cuts or chicken fingers during our break after the 9th round.

It is all about the draft and the hard core football stuff for me. The burgers and wings I can do on my own after with friends.
