Shut Up, Sit Down and Draft!! Looking For Volunteers

Perry my reason for taking 2 QB's somewhat early is simple. Schaub has always been an injury risk. As soon as i drafted him I planned to take a good back up around Rd 10. I was surprised cutler was there for me. Now I can even play match ups each week. And if Schaub does go down I won't miss much at the QB spot.

Fair enough and with a 10th you didn't overpay for Cutler or likely miss much

I was really talking about the teams that took three or four. You do bring up a good point about Schaub and that is why I preferred Roethlisberger

I don't blame Greg for taking Palmer in the 19th so to me that is just an upside guy that was there very late. Rob is the main one that took 3 QB's that I'm confused as to why he went that direction. He already had Rodgers and then took Dalton and McNabb. One of them will be on the wavier wire early on I"m sure.

I probably wouldn't have worried about 4 QB's if I had Billy's team. It's pretty easy to find a bye week QB once you get into the season. But that's just my preference.

I also had Manningham in my queue to draft hoping somehow he made it past you and Billy. The other guy I had in my queue was Johnny Knox whom you took. I didn't notice it was my pick right away and I really hadn't thought about many other options so that's why I took Graham.

Good points Wayne but it brings up another question.......I have seen several people say they want an alert that they are up when it is their turn........is there not some alert in the Flash version?

In the HTML version, there is a small box that pops up and says something to the effect that "it is now your turn or you are on the clock" whatever, but a clear notice.

Of course you still have to wait for the previous drafters pick to show in either the pick display to the left or the chat box on the right - it seems like that delay should be eliminated.....Greg - check with IT on that (if it is the same in Flash)

Wayne I really doubt that Palmer plays anything but video games this year......or ends up as a commentator on some channel. He is not going back to the Bengals and they are not going to trade him........I think he will be "retired" at least for this year.

And btw he is seriously in decline anyway so I am not sure who would trade for him but that is moot since the Bengals' owner wouldn't **** on him if he was on fire, much less give in and trade him.

Perry, the alert option will be built into the draft room on Aug. 1 when other enhancements are also added. We don't have that now but it will be added for the majority of our online (satellite/Online Championship) drafts which occur in August.

Hey greg or tom, just messing around on the site and I can see my roster and the entire draft but I can't seem set or adjust my lineup for this league. Is that because it's early or some kind or glich or maybe it's just me...LOL!

Captain, yes, I would have passed on Big Ben in the 5th & 6th.

Here are some of my random thoughts...

- First, good to be drafting again and with some fine folks!

- 1st round, pick 2 I took CJ. Six of one, half dozen of the other AT THIS POINT. I could have easily taken Charles or AP, but Chris Johnson is a personal fave, so he had the edge last night.

- Speaking of Chris johnson, who backs him up this year: Javon Ringer or Jamie Harper?

- Sjax in the 2nd round, he kept falling (and maybe for good reason), so while I planned on going WR there, I took Jackson instead.

- Brandon Marshall has no business being married and is not only saddled with a crazy, knife wielding wife, but doesn't have much of a QB. However, he's still a beast of a WR and at the end of the 3rd round, I'm buying.

- Kenny Britt, someone needs to mentor him and with no Jeff Fisher anymore, he's an even bigger roll of the dice. But 2nd round talent in the 4th round, I'm buying again.

- End of the 5th round and I love that Vernon Davis is there for me. 4 players taken in the 5th round had me scratching my head, could be the make or break round of the draft.

- I doubled up on the TE position with Owen Daniels in the 6th, made a better Flex play than other options IMO. This will change once camps open.

We're still getting everything perfected, but at least the draft results are there for you to disect and enjoy. Look for the rest in August.

Perry,

I would not have taken Roethlisberger there, as I was confident I could get a competent QB at 7/8, and feel I did in Stafford.

Here is my logic for my first 8 picks....

1.03 RB Jamaal Charles

Kind of tough choice between him and AP, but Charles has upside, and unless AP gets a QB, he does not. Would have probably taken CJ, but knew Jules infatuation for "Light Blue Jesus". ;)

2.12 WR Miles Austin

Was pretty happy to see him slip here, as he was last WR on my board before a big drop off.

3.12 TE Antonio Gates

Never thought he would make it to me, but I was happy to get the clear #1 TE this year this late.

4.03 RB DeAngelo Williams

None of the WR's cuaght my eye, so decided to gamble. If DeAngelo ends up in Denver with Fox, he could be a top 10 RB.

5.12 RB Felix Jones

Thought this was good value. A homerun hitter who just needs more TD's to be a great RB. Will gladly pug him at flex each week.

6.03 WR Mario Manningham

Last WR on my board before big drop off, so I didn't think much about this one (nice to know he would of gone with next pick!)

7.12 QB Matthew Stafford

Stafford's ceiling is huge, but so is his injury risk. Should of taken Flacco in th 10th to back him up, but I got enough QB's.

8..03 TE Kellen Winslow

Jules took Jordy Nelson right in front of me. Rather than reach for a WR, I took the clear best TE left, although with the 3 RB's, he may be on my bench each week. Good insurance if one of my RB's or Gates gets hurt.

My #3 WR could be an issue, but not all that concerned. Provided DeAngelo gets an opportunity, I could live with this team when the lights come on. :D
