We'd love to have you there. The guys who come regularly to the Windy City know how to have a good time, trust me. :D

Yeah, 100% sure you do not want to fly in to Midway, the Hyatt Regency is literally across the way from the Rosemont el station. You can see it right from the station. Just take hop on the el from O'Hare for one stop and you are there. Great pick Greg on the Chicago location this year. Arlington would have been nice too but this is a little more pedestrian friendly. And you have the new casino nearby, which is only about 5 or 6 blocks away from the Hyatt.

I have a feeling you might be in Las Vegas on the second weekend. Drop by the Bellagio for a drink and we'll talk about the old ESPN draft days when you came without any draft notes!! :D

Ok guys and gals, I promised you a Rivers Casino trip report and here it goes.

My girlfriend and I took the el train to get there since we heard horror stories on parking. We went around 2 p.m. On the way walking there we saw one of the streets by McDonald's on River Road look almost like a river and I will post that pic here later. We live near O'Hare and we received almost 7 inches of rain overnight and are expecting more tonight. The Des Plaines river is in Flood stage.

In any case, it's only a 10 minute walk from the el. When we arrived you go through security and they didn't even check our IDs. We were hungry so we checked out the various restaurant offerings. We ate at the buffet, which is called The Canopy. It is $21 for lunch on the weekend, which we thought was a little pricey but it is a brunch. No wine is included, only soft drinks or coffee. Some great dishes includes Grilled Lamb, Prime Rib, Beef Tenderloin (very pink and red), and great deserts although they only give you a tiny tiny little scoop of ice cream so I would ask for two.

The other restaurant we want to try next time is the Flipt Burger place in the casino. Obviously, they serve burgers and salads. They have a bleu cheese burger that sounds really good.

The casino itself reminds me of a scaled down casino from the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, although there is no pit like that. It is kind of built in a circle. It is only one floor and it is very hard to move around with the amount of people in the casino. Literally almost every machine in the place was occupied. We just played one slot machine to build some sort of points on my new players card and left.

Two points of suggestion I have for the casino is to lower their buffet prices and too build a second level. Once the state passes the new gambling act, they said they will be able to increase the slot machines from 1200 to almost 2000. When I asked one of the reps there if there was only one floor, she said as of right now there is, so it sounds like they want to expand and they should!

I will try to go back during a weekday when it should be less packed. Here are some pics, enjoy. If you have any question let me know.

I'm finalizing this hotel contract now and hope to have the rooms block set up with the Hyatt shortly. We're good on all of this, but we need to get everything legally done and in the system for the hotel operators to give all of you the $89 room rate. Our rooms are still set aside, so don't panic folks. But give me a day or two to get this done and then everyone can secure their rooms. I have them set aside for Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Alan says hi. I just left the Windy City where Alan again was dealing with rain, flooding, major storms, etc. I think he has the dark cloud hanging over his head!! :D
