Also, I think it would take away from the legitamacy of LV2 to have his team crippled like that. I for one want to know I went against every team at full strength (to the best of their ability). This is really fishy! I'm not letting this one go either! If the NFFC lets this happen (Smith returned), I will consider the league a "Good O'Le Boys" Vegas Scam. My next 1300 dollars will go to a lawyer!!!!
Their is a no-drop player list in NFFC.
Where's the list??? I've yet to receive one....did you??
What the heck are you talking about? It lists all the players who were dropped in the league history. Plus the player shows on the league FA lists. What is your motivation in defending a mistake in a competitive league? Are we competing or is there a group who is a team against the others? I am not over reacting....I am just being brutally honest about the way I feel about this. Lets try hard to keep the debate from decaying into name calling and such. I respect your right to have the opinion that you do...but please understand that I have a much different view of this situation.
Fairly, I think that S Smith will go right back to his rightful owner (Desert Fog).
How can you seriously type this??? Desert Fog dropped him, he is no longer the owner. My 2 year old could understand this concept.

Is Blue Foot and myself the only 2 here who believe in principles and following the rules.

And to tell Blue to go play somewhere else....why??? because he's questioning what should be questioned??? Geesh...people wonder why there's a so-called chum, chum club....it's statements like these KJ.

That is why I think that should be overturned. This is where i would disagree with you. If in fact Rich accidently put Smith in as his drop, he should live with it. If it was, as he has said, STATS error, it should be overturned. Otherwise ANYONE could say it was an honest mistake, sorry, it's not what I intended. Intent should have nothing to do with this. No one intends to make a mistake. But if it's YOUR mistake you live with it.

I like the sites that send you an electronic confirmation/email of your bids and amended ones.

Then you have a record for your bid.

You can also use it to review the bids after you complete them but before the deadline.

--------------------------

Even a confirmation of your bid at the time would be helpful. I have played here for three years now and made several moves in each league this past week and yet I cannot remember if this is built into the stats process or not? (tough getting old) An "are you sure" page would be a good idea if we do not have one. I sure wish I could remember.

I think Greg has already ruled on this one! This happened in my league so I have as much to gain or lose in this situation as anyone, but I guess i am just not as cut-throat as you GLY. I think Greg made the right call.

In my opinion, it would have more of an effect on the contest to have one league without a Steve Smith. If he were removed, there would be a big fat asterix next to the League Champ representing the league without a top 5 receiver on a team.

While this is mind boggling, **** happens! You can either choose the common sense approach to fix it and move on with a level playing field or you turn this into an ugly mess. I just can't see how the latter benefits the overall contest, Greg, Tom or the overall results and legitimacy of the contest.

Greg and Tom have enough to handle without having to deal with the litigously infatuated sharks on the message board.

Good luck and play ball!

Thanks. :D I'm not God, God loves regardless....I just always seem to end up in the minority on many things, this included.

A mistake would be clicking once and the mistake occurs, but when you have to submit(click), submit again, and then you get a chance to verify your submitting, well that's not an honest mistake, that's a bad choice. I love my kids, but they definitely deal with the consequences of the bad choice since they are my family.

If it truly was a computer errror...there would be a way to verify this or not....and if it was a computer error....how can I have any faith in STATS to run the other bids correctly???

For the record: Rich Dunn contacted me via e-mail last night after the transactions were run to state that he had cut Chris Henry and not Steve Smith. We'll certainly look into whether there was a system error or not, but he was adamant that he did not cut Steve Smith. This is being corrected right now and Smith is being placed back on his team.

I am not going to post what I would do but as a player I have no problem if Steve Smith is returned to Rich or placed in never never land for the year.

I see both sides of this argument.

1) Intent - there is no way Rich or any player would intentionally drop that Steve Smith at this point in the season.

2) Facts as we know it now - he dropped Steve Smith whether he intended to or not. He must have selected his name, then gone to screen two, where he validated the pick and hit send again. Now just maybe this was a "computer" issue. There is no way we know at this point but that shouldn't be too hard to check into.

I think the rule should be not up to interpretation. I think it shold be spelled out next year. If a player makes a drop and it goes through the process, mistake or not, the move should stand. When you are paying 1300 to play, mistakes like this should not be made.

As I stated earlier I think a confirmation page/notification should be instituted and used as gospel in these instances.
