I hope you guys know that I DO love all your ideas and I mean that. The suggestions help. I've stated that I want to reward total points more next year, that I intend on keeping the top league prize $5,000 and I want to give more overall league money as we expand. That being said, if we get to 602 teams someday as some guys are suggesting, I'm not sure that a $100,000 grand prize is enough. Maybe I'm wrong, but other competitors will be offering more and beating 601 teams deserves a big, big prize.
Over the next month, I bet we all come to an agreement on the ideal payout format, so keep the thoughts coming. I like the idea that most posts are happy with us keeping the $100,000 grand prize for now and making the league payouts better. I think we can expand both areas if we continue to grow, but realistically I'm not shooting for 602 teams next year.
As for the 25% KP keeps, yes my model will continue to pay out 75% if we fill up the allotted slots. I think that's a fair payout and one of the highest in the industry. We didn't acccomplish that this year and are paying out well over 80%. But of the remaining 25% in the future, please factor in licensing, stat service, travel, host hotels and other expenses before giving Tom and me a pay raise. KP will do just fine under this model once we start filling up each year, so I'm not asking for sympathy, but the bottom line at this point isn't 25% profit. I only wish it was.
