Insane. I can only imagine if Donny were to miss the playoffs due to someone having to lose. It would not be good for his well being so I hope it isn't him involved:)
Despite his whining, DT is 4 points out of top total points in his league. He has a chance to still win $5,000 or he could win just $1,250. Boston is a very, very interesting and competitive league and there's still a lot of money on the line. DT's fate is in his hands if his team can put up a big point total in Week 13. After all the complaining, total points will likely decide his fate moreso than h2h.

This is all a great discussion. I like our playoff formats and I'm glad we don't have one week league playoff matchups for the big money. I can't imagine playing last week for big bucks after a successful regular season and then seeing CJ and Gore and other top stars stumble in Week 12. I agree Greg as the NFFC playoff format is by far the best out of all the high stakes contests. I lost two huge playoff games in another contest by less than ten points because of CJ!! :(
Painful. To each its own, but 11 weeks isn't long enough for me to have a regular season and one week league playoffs, I just never understood the importance of one week. Hopefully we reward the teams that excel in the regular season as much as possible and THE BEST teams win the loot. That's the way it should be in all contests.
I see. At least he doesn't have negative kicker scoring to worry about like at the FFOC:)

Greg, not advocating a 3-team playoff under all circumstance ...

It could look like this:
(1) If one team sweeps W/L and PTS, teams wins 1st and there is no playoff.
(2) If one team wins W/L and a different team wins PTS, there is a 2-team playoff
(3) If one team wins W/L, a different team wins PTS, and a third team finishes 2nd in both WL and PTS, there is a 3-team playoff.

Seems to me if a team finishes second in both categories, they should not be lokced out of a playoff for the last $1500 if they beat both of those teams in either WL or PTS.

You could just divvy up the prize money differently, that would solve things:

League Money = $5,000.

1st Place H2H: $1800
1st Place Points: $1400
2nd Place Points: $1000
3rd Place Points: $800

And no playoffs unless someone is tied in record AND points. If the H2H winner is NOT in the top 3 in points he gets $1800 for being lucky as hell and should have nothing to complain about. If he's 1st in H2H and 1st in points he gets $3,200, etc.

I personally would rather de-emphasize the random luck of H2H record and emphasize piling on the points. (It's how we hand out the big money overall, why isn't it good enough for leagues?)
The Wonderful thing about Dyv's is I'm the only one!

Frank isnt Bama in if things hold but if he gets that 16 from Branch and the Balt D he would bump himself out and cost you the championship.
