Glenn,

I saw you picked up Knox in alot of League, I did go after him in one League, but I look at him as all or nothing week in and week out.

What do you think?
Lots of things working in Knox's favor:

* Obvious talent
* Competitive team
* Good QB
* Playing time not based on injury

Worth a nice-sized bid. Anything under $400 seems like a good buy.

I was very surprised by the bids this week....

Across all my leagues, I made what I thought were very competitive bids on Manningham (in the leagues he was still available), Sims-Walker, Knox, Edelman, and Forsett.

In most leagues, I got none of them.

I think I learned a very valuable lesson about high stakes Fantasy Football FAAB.
I don't think team owners are as concerned about saving some dollars as in baseball.
I still can't believe the size of the bids.

Glenn Well you start with the same amount of $$, and it is basically 1/2 the season. I still think once the byes begin next week, there will be some quality players being dropped (already are), and those who saved their pennies might get a few nice deals.

It all depends if the players that are acquired "pan out" or not.

Speaking of baseball, I am still in the hunt for $$$ in 3 of my leagues, and it is really cutting into my football time!!! :mad:
Good job Billy....don't get too good in baseball though as we don't need you to be a stud in both sports..... ;)

I'm also in the running for the money in all four of my NFBC leagues as well as my local league and CDM (Fanball) league.

Here's to hoping we both have a great last week and a half.

Glenn
Yeah I agree Glenn. I just missed picking Knox up on my NFFC Classic team so I settled for Edleman and Wade.

The last Bears wr that I liked this much was Willie Gault. :D

I went hard after Simms Walker and Knox.I had Simms Walker rated a little higher cause Jacksonville has nobody.Holt is a step slower and is getting old.Walker could end up with more recieving yards and touch downs.Knox ive heard so many different opinons but most of them good and coming from fantasy players i respect like Deterra who loves Knox.Dave say's Knox was the fasted player coming out of the combines this year.He's still pissed off the Giants didnt select him.Still a lot more options in Chicago.Devin Hester is the speed guy and going in the 5th to 6th round in most drafts.Then Bennett who is Cutler's favorite reciever and getting 13 look's in week one.Also Olsen was suppose to break out this year but hasnt done anything in the first 2 week's.Still Knox's upside is to great to ignore.
MY BID'S this week.
NY Auction Simms Walker 444 runner up 300.
NY LEAGUE 5 CLASSIC Simms Walker 422 runer up 402. Lynell Hamilton 55 runner up 30.
Primetime Knox 366 runner up 341.
Edelman 88 runner up 68
Lynell Hamilton 53
Kelly Washington 44
Some close bid's but i got my guy's.
NFBC (NY) auction league champion!

Eddie, you are incredibly lucky to get Edelman at 88. The others were solid bids with no overspending, but all it takes is one guy like me who will spend a little more to ensure I get the guy to ruin your plans.

think of it this way...
after the draft, your main event team is copied into two separate leagues.

League 1 is against your 13 other leaguemates.

League 2 is against everyone in the contest.

for league 2, if there are 20 nffc leagues, there's a total of 20 edelman's available. if 5 are already rostered, there are 15 available in the free agent pool.

currently we are playing an overall contest through our leagues. get in a weak league, and your chances of winning improve significantly. we should be playing an overall contest where faab is done on an overall basis. it would make faab so much more efficient.

I drafted Earl Bennett in most leagues down the stretch because I thought he was the best wr on the team. I thought Hester was developing and had some value but did not draft him after I saw Bennett quickly establish a connection in camp. I was thinking Bennett would be good for 12 pts a game.

I have been watching Knox for a while and drafted him in a couple of leagues. I went and got him in a couple last week and do think he is going to be Cutlers Royal this year. He could be the wr that keeps safeties honest and opens up the deep ball for Hester.

My comparisons to Steve Smith, Eddie Royal and Welker seem premature but as stated by KofQ/Glenn, this is where skill meets opportunity and pays benefits for the Bears and fantasy players lucky enough to take the chance.

Knox might also be Forte's best friend as he will need to be schemed/accounted for, especially over the middle. This could open running lanes.

Knox is the toy the Bears envisioned in Hester.
