Week 4 Thoughts and Observations

Preston Parker stashed on both my teams benches Tom - do you think he can emerge as a genuine WR3/Flex option on a weekly basis?

I think he's worth the roster stash but I really believe Williams is their most talented WR and the most likely scenario is that he'll be the most productive. When you consider the Bucs are unlikely to be a high-powered passing offense I'm not sure there's enough there for two fantasy WRs to emerge.

I just have a difficult time believing Earnest Graham (who I've always liked by the way) will lead the team in receptions when the season is over. At some point, you'd think Freeman and Williams will re-establish the rapport that made them so good last season.

But Parker is showing some nice things. I just can't imagine starting him unless I was in bye and/or injury week hell.

Sounds like I'm alone on this, but I feel better about MWilliams than I have all year. Week1 he was a non factor vs. Detroit other than the late TD. Week 2 vs Minn. he was even less involved in offense, 1 negative catch and 1 play called back due to penalty. Wk3, the field was sloppy and they were playing ball control the entire 2nd half. Last night I saw MWill make the 1st guy miss on both open field receptions. He had the early drop but he looked pretty solid thereafter. The reality is that this is a grinding team with Blount especially with 2H leads. But I can easily see MWill being a solid WR2 as we go forward. Pretty nice schedule that could lead to some 1H long plays.

Pretty nice schedule that could lead to some 1H long plays. The five receptions and number of targets were nice. The long stretches of the game where he wasn't involved at all were distressing. I don't believe he had a target in the fourth quarter even with the game on the line and most of his damage came on one series in the third quarter.

The schedule does appear to feature a lot of games which could force the Bucs to score a lot. Should that happen, conventional thinking suggests they'll need to throw more and that should benefit Williams. I'm not giving up on him by any stretch but his first four games have been a disappointment - perhaps a huge one depending on what your expectations were for him coming into the season.
