I wouldn't bid more than $10 for him. They didn't draft Edwards to be a #4 WR.
In a month or two, Bryant, Edwards and Northcutt will be getting 90% of the WR targets. UFS,
That's what is so great about America. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Now you say that Frisman Jackson is not worth more than $10 dollars (bid that is).
Well...
In my league (which is New York #1) the "runner-up" bid was 201 dollars. Which meant that in order to acquire Frisman (in my league) you had to have bid at least $202 dollars. Obviously, I did NOT know this in the blind bidding process. I bid $404 dollars which I believe is an "OVER-BID" (TOO MUCH). However, the net result is he is on my team and he is NOT on your team. He is also NOT on the other 13 rosters in my league.
Frisman Jackson is on TEAM WINNERS...that may be a good thing or it may be a bad thing...only time will tell...MY point is that I had to bid a lot of money to get him on my team because I needed a starting WR and I like guys who catch 8 balls for 128 yards and score a TD in Week #1. To me that means that there is a POSSIBILITY that Frisman Jackson can be a top 20 Fantasy scoring WR in this system this year. The POSSIBILITY also exists that I paid far to much and he will end up significantly underperforming his Week #1 stats the rest of the way.
BOTTOM LINE:
"If you want to win, you have to put Frisman in."
IF THE ABOVE STATEMENT IS TRUE THAN I CAN PUT FRISMAN IN AND YOU CAN'T.
WINNERS [/QUOTE]FAAB bids are most certainly worth whatever $$ value you put on them.
If you have that dire of a need, then $404 is the right bid.
I don't have that need, and coupled with the target info, see as more of a one week fluke.
Northcutt has never really amounted to anything and has been over hyped at times.
If Edwards wasn't the #1 pick, Frisman might be a good long term pick this year. I just can't see it as Edwards gets more PT each week.
That $404 you spent is going to severely limit you if a more, let's say, LJ type of RB starts to play due to an injury and is a FA in most leagues. Is the cost worth it then?

Dyv, I see you have a new deceased horse to beat now.
We're expecting at least 5 "Frisman404" references per day from you.

D Dyv,
I did not take Culpepper #2 overall.
I had the #5 pick.
I selected Manning in the 1st round.
This may or may not turn out to be a good move...
ANALYSIS: By taking a QB first, it put me behind the 8-ball for the rest of the draft and pretty much made me chase WR's and RB's the rest of the draft. Since I passed on Holmes in the 1st round, I knew that I would have to get at least 2 Stud RB's by the end of the 4th round (or they would all be gone).
TEAM WINNERS 1st FIVE ROUNDS:
1.5 Peyton Manning
2.10 Tory Holt
3.5 Carnell Williams
4.10 Larry Johnson
5.5 Issac Bruce
After the 1st five rounds, I had my starting QB and two starting RB's and two starting WR's...The trouble was compunded by the fact that LJ doesn't really start (NOT YET ANYWAY).
Consequently, I was forced to "CHASE" RB's in this draft. I selected Ricky L. Williams in the 7th Round and took two back-ups named Najeh Davenport and LaBradon Toefield (hoping for an injury).
Because of the way my draft played out my 3rd and 4th WR's turned out to be NOT VERY GOOD:
Their names are - Matt Jones and Joe Jurevicius.
Because of my deficiency at WR, I was forced to pick up two starters (FOR MY TEAM) in the 1st week of pick-ups:
I picked up Frisman Jackson and Patrick Crayton.
My starting lineup for week #2 is:
QB - Peyton Manning
RB#1 - Carnell Williams
RB#2 - Larry Johnson
WR#1 - Tory Holt
WR#2 - Issac Bruce
WR#3 - Patrick Crayton
WR#4 - Frisman Jackson
TE - Dallas Clark
PK - Sebastian Janikowski
DEF- Tampa Bay

For a guy who always picks runningbacks first ... with the $250 Sattellite league ... I also picked Manning in the 5 spot (just to see if we could recover).
1.5 Manning
2.10 C Williams
3.5 Arrington
4.10 S Smith
5.5 Bruce
We also got Benson CHI, Pittman TB and Zack Crocket OAK
QB - Peyton Manning
RB#1 - Carnell Williams
RB#2 - J J Arrington
WR#1 - Steve Smith
WR#2 - Issac Bruce
WR#3 - B Engram
WR#4 - D Givens (to soon be Benson)
TE - Dallas Clark
PK - Stover
DEF- Falcons
I agree it's hard to fill the RB spot with a QB in the first round ... but Manning's up side is huge.
With that said ... for whatever reason IMHO ... if you need to go to Free agency to get a starter on you team (for whatever reason) ... you are justified in blowing you whole wad for him (I'm just not sure Frisman is a Starter ... and I hope for your sake ... he is)

Ugly Yellow Tomatoes,
Our teams look remarkably similar, don't you think???
I think that you understand the feeling (frustration that is) when you pick Manning at the #5 spot and then you have to play "CATCH-UP" the rest of the draft.
I am not yet convinced that we did the correct thing by selecting a QB in the 1st round. However, in a scoring system that awards 6 points for a passing TD it MIGHT have been justified???
Good Luck to you the rest of the way...

Lots of luck to you guys -- it takes some balls to select a QB in the first round.
