M. CLAYTON - BALT
D. MASON - BALT
J. WALKER - DEN
P. CRAYTON - DALL
T. WILLIAMSON - MINN
S. SMITH - NYG
NOW SINCE THREE OF HIS RECEIVERS WERE INACTIVE HE HAD TO PLAY CRAYTON AND I GOT BEAT. IT WASN'T SKILL AT ALL THAT IS ALL HE HAD THAT WAS HEALTHY TO PLAY. WITH A LARGER ROSTER SIZE THERE ARE MORE CALLS AND DECISION YOU HAVE TO MAKE VERSUS BEING JUST FORCED INTO A PLAY BECAUSE THAT IS ALL YOU HAVE TO PLAY.
Drafting depth is a skill. Injuries are a part of the game and should be planned for. Thanks for pointing out the drafting skill of this owner.
I BEG TO DIFFER HOW IS THIS DRAFTING SKILL? HE PLAYED CRAYTON BECAUSE HE HAD TO NOT BECAUSE HE WANTED TO. WHAT SKILL DOES IT TAKE TO PLAY THE ONLY HEALTHY GUY ON YOU ROSTER? ANSWER ME THAT.
I already answered that McFly. Injuries/byes and situations like this occur all the time. He prepared for them. have you just started playing FF?
His 19th and 20th players could easily be QB?RB/TE/K/D and NOT a WR and he'd have the same scenario. [/QB]
NO I HAVEN'T AND YOU KNOW THAT. HE DID NOT PREPARE FOR ANYTHING HE JUST PLAYED WHAT HE HAD HEALTHY. THAT IS ALL I AM SAYING MCFLY. HIS 19 AND 20TH PICK ALSO COULD HAVE BEEN TWO MORE WR'S ALSO.

I certainly agree that Auction drafting is fairer than any serpentine draft for assembling the most sound team going into a season.
However, that isn't what we have in the Main Event.

How many years have you played with FAAB? (serious question)
Your question implies that there are weeks when you don't have to manage the FA list now.
I'd say I'm in the Top 15% of those with excellent FAAB skill. I know several others that are in the Top 5%.
Those numbers would diminish with a larger FA pool. That's the best I can answer this...
I am looking forward to some blocks come Week 9 and 10....

He is just pointing to the Drafting skill of the equation. You are speaking to the Roster Management skill.
Two different skills, both important. O.K. I AM GLAD YOU SEE WHERE I AM COMING FROM.

Here is a real life example of why 18 spots may not be enough.
This week I have 2 starting players on bye. I accounted for this at the start of the year and it wasn't a problem.
Westbrook
Kevin Curtis
I also have 2 backups on bye
Correll Buckhalter
Bobby Wade
In addition to these players I have 3 additional players possibly out due to injuries.
Marvin Harrison
Andre Johnson
Vernon Davis
This leaves me one roster spot for a backup defense and one for a backup quarterback. If any other players end up on the injury report then I'm dropping a second defense or Bobby Wade just to have a starting lineup. Wade may not be a bad drop but he's there as a fill in for emergencies.
I just think that having more roster spots benefits those who are better prepared on draft day and helps those whose teams are depleted by injuries.

I've played long enough to make it in the top 100% of "FAAB skill"
This isn't my first time with FAAB. Blocking really can only happen if you're reasonably healthy. Once the BYE weeks are passed, FAAB becomes an afterthought IMO.

Wayne Wayne, use some skill and pick up M. Smith and B. Calhoun
Just kidding ofcourse. I feel your pain.

GREAT POINTS THERE WAYNE. ALSO I FEEL THAT OWNERS SHOULD HAVE TO MAKE A DECISION VERSUS JUST PLAYING WHAT YOU HAVE. IF YOU HAVE TO DECIDE BETWEEN M. JENKINS OR I. BRUCE FOR YOUR 3RD RECEIVER YOU HAVE TO MAKE A CALL VERSUS IF ALL YOU HAVE IS JENKINS BECAUSE THE ROSTERS ARE SO THIN AND HE COMES THROUGH LIKE YESTERDAY AND SAVES YOUR BUTT THERE IS NOT SKILL IN THAT TO ME BECAUSE YOU PLAYED THE ONLY THING POSSIBLE DUE TO INJURIES AND BYES.
