Who's Coming To The 2006 NFFC And Where?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Mon Jan 16, 2006 5:24 am

Speaking of dedicated players, let's welcome back Kevin Dukesherer of San Diego, California, another member who signs up for all of our NFBC and NFFC contests. Kevin will be returning to Las Vegas on Sept. 1-2 to compete in the NFFC's main event, the $650 Auction League and the $650 Draft Champions League. In 2006, his Zefurs team finished fifth in Las Vegas League 5 with a 6-7 record and 1,622.95 points, placing 78th overall. The Zefurs then finished 135th in the Consolation Round with 448.0 points. The Zefurs also finished 6-7 in the Las Vegas Auction League with 1,482.15 points and finished with 1,891.15 points in the Draft Champions League. I think Kevin also did every satellite league we offered and battled for titles in each of those. Thanks for your trust and support once again, Kevin, and best of luck this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, the $5,000 league prize, the $4,250 Draft Champions League prize and the $4,000+ in Auction League prizes. I'll see you in Las Vegas in September and even before that in March at the NFBC's draft.

Who's Coming To The 2006 NFFC And Where?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Mon Jan 16, 2006 5:36 am

We're glad to welcome back a player who has made it to the Championship Round each of the last two years, but who is still searching for that elusive $100,000 grand prize. Let's give it up for Glenn Schroter of Auburndale, New York, who will be returning to the New York Hilton on Saturday, Sept. 2nd for the NFFC's main event. Glenn led his Svengali team to an 8-5 record and finished second in his league in total points with 1,755.55, placing 18th overall. He won $500 in his league, but needed a wild card spot to make the Championship Round because a team with fewer total points won the head-to-head title. Svengali finished off the pace in the Championship Round with 487.15 points, but it was still a good run. Glenn won a few other satellite leagues and we'll announce those after he signs up for 3 or 4 other events! :D Anyway, great job in 2005, Glenn, and welcome back for another football season. Maybe this time around you'll win the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize!

Who's Coming To The 2006 NFFC And Where?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Mon Jan 16, 2006 5:42 am

We're glad to officially announce that one of our promotional partners and an industry veteran is coming back to the NFFC in 2006. Greg Bebezas of FantasyFootballtimes.com teamed up with Frank Ferreira of Nashua, New Hampshire and competed in New York League 3 in 2005. The FFTimes.com Flankers finished 5-8 with 1,533.55 points and added 424.72 points in the Consolation Round, but they're ready for another go-round in 2006. Thanks once again for your trust and support, Greg and Frank, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize in 2006.

I'm glad to welcome another NFFC member who has been with us from Day One and he's stuck with us even though I've misspelled his name for the last two years. Let's give it up for Andy Langwald of West Bloomfield, Michigan, who will be returning to the Chicago Oakbrook Marriott on Saturday, Sept. 2nd for the NFFC's main event. Andy's curbed enthusiasm team struggled to a 3-10 finish in Chicago League 2 and scored 1,374.05 points, but he's looking for a money finish in 2006. Thanks for your trust and support once again, Andy, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Very few NFFC owners are as passionate about fantasy football as Marc Quitsch of Staten Island, New York, who thinks about the sport 365 days a year. He's been in the NFFC since the first season and last year he split his time between the New York Auction League, the New York Draft Champions League and about four satellite leagues. He led his MoJo Rising team to an 8-5 record and the second highest points in the New York Auction League (1,649.7), but lost to eventual champion RI Workhorse before beating Pewter Schmidts for third place money. His MoJo Rising Draft Champions team finished sixth in New York with 2,278.1 points. He's currently signed up for the New York Auction League on Friday, Sept. 1st, but I have a feeling he may add another league or two before our deadline approaches. :D Welcome back, Marc, and best of luck in the hunt for the $4,000+ in Auction League prizes.

He sure stirred up a lot of excitement on the Message Boards this year with his predictions that he'd win the $100,000 grand prize, but now that he fell short of his goal he's coming back for more in 2006. Glenn Karant of Plantation, Florida led his Snake team to a third place finish in the tough New York League 6 as he went 6-7 with 1,776.55 points. That was good enough for 17th overall, which earned Snake a wild card spot in the Championship Round. Snake finished 29th in that post-season contest with 478.11 points and now is ready to do it all over again. Glenn has signed up for the NFFC's main event on Saturday, Sept. 2nd at the New York Hilton and he's also adding the Draft Champions League on Friday, Sept. 1st for the first time. Welcome back, Glenn, and don't be afraid to keep stirring things up, even if it is to champion the BBDS! :D Oh, and best of luck once again in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, the $5,000 league prize and the $4,250 Draft Champions League prize.

Let's get back to the signups as several more NFFC veterans have committed to our event in 2006. One of the returning members is Matthew Bayley of Urbana, Maryland, who has been with the NFFC since its inception in 2004. Matthew's HONOLULU HAMMERS team had great success last year as it went 9-4 in New York League 3 to finish second and win $2,500. The Hammers had the ninth highest point total during the regular season with 1,793.2 and then finished 17th in the Consolation Round with 525.64 points. The HONOLULU HAMMERS also finished second in the New York Draft Champions League with 2,325.65 points to earn another $2,000. In 2006, Matt will be returning to the New York Hilton on Friday, Sept. 1st for the Draft Champions League, to the Hilton on Saturday, Sept. 2nd for the NFBC's main event and whenever for a $1,250 Auction League if we can form one!!! Thanks, Matt, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, the $5,000 league prize, the $4,250 Draft Champions League prize and the $8,000+ in Auction League prizes.

It's always good to welcome back George Kleemann of Palantine, Illinois to our events as George has been a loyal participant in all of our NFBC and NFFC events since 2004. In fact, George became a heavy participant in our satellite leagues last year and he will be online again this year....as long as his wife Sandi runs the controls! :D Last year George had a solid season as he led his Lake Shore Drive team to a second place finish in the Chicago Draft Champions League with 2,434.9 points, earning $2,000. His Lake Shore Drive team also finished fourth in Chicago League 1 of the main event with a 9-4 record and 1,574.65 points, placing 115th overall, before placing 45th overall in the Consolation Round with 509.88 points. George will again compete in the NFFC's main event and the Draft Champions League at the Chicago Oakbrook Marriott on Sept. 1-2 and we welcome him back with open arms. Congrats, George, and best of luck this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, the $5,000 league prize and the $4,250 Draft Champions League prize.

We now have four signups for the New York Auction League as Eddy Betancourt of Woodhaven, New York is returning on Friday, Sept. 1st to the New York Hilton. Eddy's Bagglers team struggled to a 3-10 record in 2005 with 1,328.85 points, but he likes the comraderie in New York and the healthy competition. And besides, this could be his year!!! Thanks for your trust and support once again, Eddy, and best of luck in the hunt for the $4,000+ in prizes in the New York Auction League.

Billy Wasosky of Richmond, Virginia won an NFFC league title in New York in 2004 and he almost won an Auction League title in Chicago last year. Billy led his Behind the Woodshed team to a fourth place finish in the Chicago Auction League during the regular season with a 9-4 record and 1,681.6 points and then won a pair of playoff games before losing in the Championship Game. He won $1,450 for his efforts. His 16 Weeks of Pain team finished seventh in Chicago League 5 with 1,547.15 points, placing 138th overall, and then finished 54th in the Consolation Round with 499.97 points. Billy is returning to the Chicago Oakbrook Marriott on Friday-Saturday, Sept. 1-2 for the Auction League and the main event, and we might even name a Satellite League after him again! :D Welcome back, Billy, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, the $5,000 league prize and the $4,000+ in Auction League prizes.
