Lee Friske took one on the chin a bit last year in Las Vegas 6, finishing 2-11. But he's back in Sin City for 2006 and planning on a much stronger finish. Welcome back Lee and good luck in the hunt for the $5,000 league prize and the $100,000 grand prize.

Scott Newman finished 8-5 in New York League 5 last year and had a 7-6 record in the New York Auction League. He's planning on better finishes in both events this year as he's jumped back into the mix in the Big Apple for 2006. Welcome back Scott and good luck in the hunt for the two league prizes and the $100,000 grand prize.

Just one more signup and we'll have our first auction league filled in New York. Who's going to be lucky No. 14?

We just filled up our 10th league for the main event with the arrival of our newest members to the NFFC family. Let's give it up for the tag team of Bradley Miller and Grant Miller of Kingwood, Texas and Phoenix, Arizona. Brad is good friends with Derek Anderson (Lumpy's Losers) and he actually came to Las Vegas in March to draft their baseball team in the NFBC's main event, so he's familiar with our setup. Brad and Grant become our 57th team in Las Vegas for the main event as we start our fifth league there and our 140th team overall. They also signed up for the $650 Draft Champions League in Las Vegas as we're working on a second league there. Thanks guys and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, the $5,000 league prize and the $4,250 Draft Champions League prize.

We're glad to welcome back our 99th team from 2005 to the 2006 main event as the tag team of Jim and Tanya Jensen of Fairchild, Wisconsin has signed up to compete at the Chicago Oakbrook Marriott on Saturday, Sept. 2nd. Jim has been in the NFFC all three years and last year he led Team Jensen to a 6-7 record in Chicago League 4, placing 117th overall with 1,571.7 points. Team Jensen then finished 30th in the Consolation Round with a solid 526.0 points. It's always good to have the Cheeseheads back in the NFFC, so best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

It's good to officially welcome back one of our best customers in the NFFC and NFBC as Jeff Dobies of Richmond Hill, New York has signed up for the main event at the New York Hilton on Saturday, Sept. 2nd. Jeff is already signed up for the NFFC Ultimate League, so he will be busy again. Jeff's Show Me The Money team finished 6-7 in New York League 7 last year, placing 162nd overall with 1,517.46 points. It finished 127th in the Consolation Round with 452.98 points. His Colts team made the playoffs in the Ultimate League with a 6-7 record and 1,556.15 points, but was eliminated from the playoffs in the first round. Welcome back Jeff and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, the $5,000 league prize and the $37,500 in Ultimate League prizes.

The hits keep coming today as we welcome back our 101st member from 2005 to the 2006 main event. Let's give it up for John Piontek of Orlando, Florida, an original member of the NFFC family who will be drafting in Las Vegas on Saturday, Sept. 2nd. John has won national titles in the past in other contests and he fared well in 2004, but last year nothing went right for his Superpions team as it finished 3-10 in New York League 8 with 1,398.95 points. We're glad to have John back in Las Vegas this year and we wish him best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize. First beer(s) is(are) on me in Sin City, John! :D

Richard Dunn has already signed up for the NFFC's main event in Las Vegas and he's even in the BBDS league on July 16th where he secured the No. 1 pick with a generous bid. Now he's ready to join us for the Auction League in Las Vegas on Friday, Sept. 1st. We now have 22 signups for the Auction Leagues in Las Vegas -- 15 at $650 and 7 who would do a league at $1250 -- and it's obvious we'll get at least two auction leagues again this year and maybe three. If you want to get into an auction league in Las Vegas, don't wait too long, and if you want to move up to the $1250 league let me know. Anyway, welcome again Richard and best of luck in the hunt for the $4,000+ in league prizes.
