Who's Coming To The 2006 NFFC And Where?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Wed Jul 12, 2006 2:58 am

We're working on our 11th league for the main event this week as we welcome another original member of the NFFC family back to the fold for 2006. Let's give it up for the tag team of Jon Clift and Kenny White of Lees Summitt, Missouri as they have chosen to join us for the main event in Las Vegas this year on Saturday, Sept. 2nd. Jon has drafted the last two years in Chicago, but he's bringing his gang to Las Vegas this year thanks to a business trip that week that will take care of the flight!! Gotta love it. Jon led his BIG MO team to an 8-5 finish in Chicago League 2 last year, placing 77th overall with 1,623.15 points. That was a tough league last year as six teams finished in the top 77 in total points. Don't worry Jon as I'll take good care of you guys in Las Vegas. Welcome back and best of luck this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

The original members are coming back strong today as the All-Star break has given some of my die-hard baseball players a chance to sign up for the football contest. I'm glad to welcome back Marty Bedell of Poughkeepsie, New York to the NFFC as Marty finished third overall in our baseball contest last year and is back in the hunt for a league title this year. He just signed up for the main event in New York on Saturday, Sept. 2nd and is looking for a little better luck this year. Marty led MGBS109 to an 8-5 record in New York League 3, placing 109th overall with 1,585.15 points and missing a money finish by just four points. MGBS109 then finished 18th in the Consolation Round with 546.74 points. Welcome back Marty and best of luck this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Bruce Barnard of Manassas, Virginia and LeaderboardSports.com has become our 149th signup for the main event as he just signed up for the big gig at the New York Hilton on Saturday, Sept. 2nd. Bruce will be drafting with his son-in-law, Benjamin Arrington, and is an original member of the NFFC and NFBC. Bruce has had two hard-luck seasons in the NFFC as he has been so close to a trip to the Championship Round both seasons, just to miss out by a few points each time. His Leaderboard Hobbits finished 7-6 in Las Vegas League 4, placing 69th overall with 1,634.5 points. Bruce is heading to New York this year before taking a family vacation on the East Coast. Welcome back Bruce and Benjamin and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Jim Bores of Flemington, New Jersey becomes our 150th signup for the NFFC's main event as he just registered for the big gig at the New York Hilton on Saturday, Sept. 1st. Jim is an original member of the NFFC and NFBC families and he was an NFFC league champion in 2004. Last year he led his RisingStarsAthletics team to a 6-7 record in New York League 7, placing 81st overall and just out of the league money with 1,616.85 points. Jim has also signed up for the Draft Champions League, becoming our seventh owner for that event in New York. His Dynamic Duo Draft Champions League team finished fourth last year in New York, again just out of the money, with 2,289.55 points. Welcome back Jimbo and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, the $5,000 league prize and the $4,250 DC League prize.

We're glad to welcome back another original member of the NFFC family to the 2006 event as Scott Keikoan of Las Vegas, Nevada is claiming home field advantage for two events this year. Scott has entered the main event again after being in line to win the $100,000 last year and he becomes our eighth owner in the $1,250 NFFC Auction League on Friday, Sept. 1st. This is the first time we've offered a $1,250 Auction League and we hope to fill that one up. Scott led Team Keikoan to a second place finish and a $2,500 prize in Las Vegas League 7 last year with an 8-5 record, placing 57th overall with 1,652.15 points. Team Keikoan then finished 19th in the Championship Round with 520.74 points. His Auction League team finished 5-8 with 1,393.1 points, but Scott expects a money finish out of that team this year. Welcome back Scott and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, $5,000 league prize and $8,000+ in Auction League prizes.

We're glad to see so many NFFC original members signing up this week. Let's give it up for one of our 2004 NFFC League champs as James Mack of Delaware Water Gap, Pennsylvania has signed up again for the NFFC's main event at the New York Hilton on Saturday, Sept. 2nd. James had the highest scoring team in the NFFC Champions League, but lost in the semi-finals of the playoffs to King of Queens.
