Who's Coming To The 2006 NFFC And Where?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Wed Jul 26, 2006 8:30 am

New York is close to finishing up its fifth full league for the main event thanks to the return of another NFFC member from 2005. Let's give it up for the return of Ryan Kretchmer and Paul Anderson of Rochester, New York as they will be teaming up once again at the New York Hilton on Saturday, Sept. 2nd. Ryan and Paul led The Dalai Lama Himself to an 8-5 record last year in New York League 4, placing 58th overall with 1,652.05 points. The Dalai Lama Himself then finished seventh in the Consolation Round with 568.39 points. It was a solid season guys, even though it didn't lead to a payday. Welcome back Ryan and Paul and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We now have five full leagues in New York for the main event thanks to the arrival of our newest members to the growing NFFC family. Let's give it up for the tag team of Gene Lavigne and Steve Higgins of Rocky Hill, Connecticut as they just signed up for the NFFC's main event at the New York Hilton on Saturday, Sept. 2nd. Gene has been looking to compete in a high-stakes event for a few years and found the NFFC appealing with its tough 14-team leagues. We'll take good care of you guys in the Big Apple and I promise a tough competition. Welcome aboard and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Adam led his Do I Have To Pay Taxes team to a 6-7 record in New York League 2 last year, finishing with 1,462.7 points. Do I Have To Pay Taxes also placed 146th in the Consolation Round with 439.72 points. Adam is claiming home field advantage in New York this year and is looking for a money finish. Welcome back Adam and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

The New York signups keep coming in as we welcome back another original NFFC member. Let's give it up for Julian Curry of North Bethesda, Maryland, who will be joining us at the New York Hilton for the third straight year. Julian led his Tobasco Tittiesn Touchdown team to a 4-9 record in New York League 2 last year, placing 195th with 1,462.4 points. His team then finished 43rd overall in the Consolation Round with 513.55 points. Julian has been told by Tom NOT to get ribs before the draft this year, but otherwise I think he's good to go! :D Welcome back Julian and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We now have one full league for the Ultimate on Sunday, Sept. 3rd as we welcome back Glenn Schroter of Whitestone, New York to the $5,000 league. Glenn is the Lifetime Standings leader in the NFFC and he's won a few league titles in both the NFFC and the NFBC. His King of Queens team didn't fare as well in the NFFC Ultimate League last year as it finished out of the playoffs with 1,456.85 points, but Glenn is promising a better finish this year. Glenn will be drafting out of our New York location or from a beach house again. :D Welcome back Glenn and best of luck in the hunt for the $37,500 in league prizes.

If you still have interest in the Ultimate League, let me know as we still have 4+ weeks of signups to try for a second league.

Michael Treffiletti of Clifton Park, New York competed in Las Vegas last season, but he will stick closer to home this year as he just signed up for the NFFC's main event at the New York Hilton on Saturday, Sept. 2nd. Michael led his ALL IN team to a 5-8 record in Las Vegas League 4 last year, placing 71st overall with 1,632.9 points. ALL IN then finished 13th in the Consolation Round with 557.01 points. Nice job Michael and best of luck this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.
