Who's Coming To The 2006 NFFC And Where?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Fri Aug 04, 2006 2:22 am

We now have 16 full leagues for the main event and six full leagues in Las Vegas!! With 224 teams in the main event, we've matched the final total that we had in Year One, 2004, and we still have 24 days of signups to go. Let's cruise past last year's total of 280 teams soon and head towards 350 so that we can get the draft spots announced.

Our latest signup is another new member to the NFFC family who comes recommended by long-time NFFC veteran Randy Barbour. Let's give it up for Tom Foster of Bel Air, Maryland, who will be drafting in the NFFC's main event at the Stardust Resort & Casino on Saturday, Sept. 2nd. This is Tom's first venture at our live drafts and we promise to get him in a league filled with fantasy football fanatics! Welcome aboard Tom and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Chad and Don are new participants in our high-stakes events, but they are fired up to compete in our football contest. Welcome aboard guys and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We welcome back our 152nd team from last season to this year's main event as the tag team of Lee Pollak of Pikesville, Maryland and John Katz will be joining us at the New York Hilton on Saturday, Sept. 2nd. Lee and John are original members of the NFFC family who competed in Las Vegas last year and Lee would LOVE to go back there again, but it's tough to get away during Labor Day weekend. Last year the duo led their We Pity Da Fool team to a 6-7 record in Las Vegas League 5, placing 179th overall with 1,492.1 points. We Pity Da Fools then placed 90th in the Consolation Round with 474.03 points. We'll gladly take you guys in New York this year, so best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize. See ya there.

We're glad to welcome back another team owner who had a shot at the $100,000 grand prize last year as Will Ott of New York City will again claim home field advantage this year in the Big Apple. Will becomes our 89th team in the New York main event and our 228th team overall. Last year, Will won $5,000 by winning New York League 1 with a 10-3 record as his Dibs Bitahini team placed 43rd overall with 1,690.9 points. Dibs Bitahini then placed 31st overall in the Championship Round with 470.02 points. Great job Will and welcome back for another shot at the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

The hits keep coming as we welcome yet another new member to the growing NFFC family. Let's give it up for Silas Dain of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada as he will be joining us for the NFFC's main event at the Stardust Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Silas is new to our live events, but he has played other online high-stakes leagues in the past, so he's ready for this competition. Silas might even get into some Friday events, which would be even better. Welcome aboard Silas and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We are one spot away from filling our fourth league for the NFFC's main event in Chicago as we welcome our 155th team from 2005 back for 2006. Let's give it up for the return of Richard Bucy of Warren, Ohio as he will be returning to the Chicago Oakbrook Marriott on Saturday, Sept. 2nd with his son Steven.
