Who's Coming To The 2006 NFFC And Where?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Mon Aug 07, 2006 5:28 am

We now have four full leagues in Chicago for the main event as we welcome another new team to the growing NFFC family. Let's give it up for the tag team of Drew Masse and Brad Ament of Wheaton, Illinois as they will be drafting at the Chicago Oakbrook Marriott on Saturday, Sept. 2nd. They are team No. 56 there and 234 overall as we're working on our 17th league overall. Welcome aboard guys and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We're glad to welcome back another team from 2005 that had a good shot at the $100,000 grand prize. Let's give it up for David Kennedy of Steamburg, New York, who won $2,500 last year in the NFFC. David led his Screamin Wahoos team to a 9-4 finish in New York League 7 last year, losing the Week 13 game to fall out of first place. He still had the most points in NY7 to win $2,500, placing 32nd overall with 1,721.7 points. The Screamin Wahoos then placed 12th in the Championship Round with 534.84 points. Congratulations on a great season, David, and best of luck this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We're glad to welcome yet another new team to New York, although it's a familiar face to those of us here. Let's give it up for Anson Chan of Fort Lee, New Jersey, who has just signed up for the NFFC's main event at the New York Hilton on Saturday, Sept. 2nd. Anson and his co-manager Winston Sapigao are part of our National Fantasy Baseball Championship and they will be joining us for our football event for the first time. Welcome aboard guys and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We're glad to welcome back another team from 2005 to the 2006 main event as Chris and Mark Surawski of Oakland, California have just signed up to compete on Saturday, Sept. 2nd at the Stardust Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Chris journeyed to Chicago last year to visit friends over Labor Day weekend and drafted there, but this year he's sticking closer to home and drafting in Las Vegas. His Busters team finished 5-8 in Chicago League 3 last year, finishing with 1,374.75 points. Welcome back guys and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

I count 237 signups for the Main Event...What's the goal for 2006? I know you said you knew a bunch of guys from last year are going to join soon too. I'm curious how many spots are left?

Thanks Greg! I look forward to meeting with everyone who makes the trip to Vegas. I also want to talk with you about the creation of a keeper league with a 17 game season, full playoffs, and preseason. It would have all the positions and 32 teams. Contracts, restricted free agents, salary cap, rookie draft, and veteran free agency. And yes...it is possible. This game would be for the diehard fantasy football fan and it would take about 20 hours a week just to be competitive. Only 32 people in the country could play. There would even be a rules meeting each year where the 32 owners decide upon rule changes. There is nothing like this concept out there. Teams would go for 10,000 dollars each. Winners split $250,000...you get 70K a year salary to be the commish. Let me know in Vegas if you are interested.

We now have 17 full leagues for the NFFC's main event thanks to the arrival of another new member to the quickly growing NFFC family. Let's give it up for Rich Peny of Lakewood, Colorado as Rich has just signed up to compete in the big dance at the Stardust Resort & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, Sept. 2nd. This is Rich's first venture to one of our live events and we're glad to have him on board. Welcome aboard Rich and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.
