Who's Coming To The 2006 NFFC And Where?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Mon Aug 14, 2006 8:23 am

The King of Hoagies from the Philadelphia area is finally back in the NFFC's fold as Richie Primo of Primo's Hoagies has committed to attend the main event at the New York Hilton on Saturday, Sept. 2nd. Richie opened up five new stores this year and has been too busy to return my phone calls, but I finally caught up with him today and locked him up for a spot in the big dance. Richie led his Grid Reapers team toa third place finish and $500 in New York League 5 last year, going 6-7 and placing 86th overall with 1,604.15 points. The Grid Reapers then finished 28th overall in the Consolation Round with 528.70 points. I have insisted that Richie get back on the Message Boards and start smack talking immediately, so look for the Grid Reapers posts soon. Welcome back Richie and best of luck once again in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Tom Rossi of Mt. Laurel, New Jersey manages Primo's Hoagies and he's also been too busy to lock down a team in the NFFC's main event, but today we hit a home run with a phone call that resulted in two entries. Tom led Team Rossi to a 6-7 record in New York League 2 last year, placing 73rd overall with 1,630.75 points. He finished with more points than his boss, Richie, but finished out of the money (4th place) in a tough NY2 League. Tom's entry is our 107th in New York, leaving us with 19 open spots for the main event in the Big Apple. Welcome back Tom and best of luck this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We officially have 108 signups for the main event in New York and 18 open spots there as we welcome a new member to the growing NFFC family. It's All In The Family as Dolores Bayley -- mother of NFFC members Matthew and John Bayley -- is joining the main event at the New York Hilton on Saturday, Sept. 2nd. What a great idea as New York will be a wild time for the Bayley's. Welcome aboard Dolores and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We are one spot away from filling up five full leagues in Chicago as we welcome another new member to the growing NFFC family. I'm glad to welcome the tag team of Max Clevenger and Tim Culbertson of Chillicothe, Illinois as they will be joining us for the big dance at the Chicago Oakbrook Marriott on Saturday, Sept. 2nd. Max competed in the Aug. 2nd $100 NFFC Satellite League and had so much fun that he decided to join us for this year's main event. Welcome aboard guys and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

The New York signups keep coming in as there's no question the Big Apple will again lead the way in the main event. Let's give it up for the arrival of our newest member of the NFFC family as Anthony Mongiovi III of Cherry Hill, New Jersey has signed up for the big dance at the New York Hilton on Saturday, Sept. 2nd. This is Anthony's debut in our high-stakes events and we welcome him with free gifts and free drinks. Welcome aboard Anthony and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Okay, here comes a run on New York signups. First let's welcome back Bryson Raver of Tampa, Florida to the NFFC's main event as he will be joining us on Saturday, Sept. 2nd at the New York Hilton. Bryan led his Team Raver to an 8-5 finish in New York League 2 last year, placing 127th overall with 1,556.6 points. This is the second straight year that Bryson will be joining us in New York and we wish him best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Let's add two more signups from Tampa to the New York main event as Edward and Corey Killmer are each taking teams on Saturday, Sept. 2nd. Corey competed in New York League 1 last year, leading his Purple Haze team to a 5-8 recordwith 1,449.75 points, while Edward's EdCouch New Potatoes team struggled with injuries all year long in New York League 4. Both are looking forward to better success this year and a shot at the grand prize. Welcome back guys and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prizes.

New York is filling up fast. Give me a holler if you want one of the final spots. Thanks everyone.

Shawn Childs of Forestdale, Massachusetts just completed the NFFC Quadfecta by adding the Draft Champions League to his weekend of fun in Las Vegas. Shawn was already signed up for the main event and the $1250 Auction League and he is a co-owner in the Ultimate League, so he figured it was time to add the Draft Champions League. He's now the 26th owner in that event as we have TWO open spots in Las Vegas before we close out those two leagues. Last year, Shawn's C.C.'s Desperados finished seventh in LV1 with 2,176.65 points. Welcome back for another event Shawn and best of luck in the hunt for the $4,250 league prize. Oh, and keep those NFBC teams going as it looks like you may cash with EVERY one of them. Great job.

Pat is new to our live drafts, but we welcome her with free gifts and free drinks. Thanks for your trust and support Pat and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Wow, it's been another good day for the NFFC as the main event signups are coming in strong. We're glad to add another new member to the main event in Las Vegas on Saturday, Sept. 2nd as Chris Sulhoff of the Edwards Air Force Base in California will be flying to the Stardust to compete with us. Chris is new to our live drafts, but he said he saw the 14-team format and loved the toughness of the competition. Welcome aboard Chris and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.
