As you know, I hear your complaints on the payout discrepencies. JP and Dyv have been in your corner loud and clear, but it's been quiet from others. some people may not like me or want to post to something i value. you know how that goes. this is a fair compromise.

I know you want that three-game playoff at all costs. We'll see. even a one-game playoff is better than no playoff. sorry but it's important. like Ico said, i could benefit from this or i could get burned. no hidden agendas...

GG -- I do think total points is a better barometer, and I don't think people can negate that by saying one or two great weeks negates that. At the end of the year, a guy who hits .300 is a three-hundred hitter, even if it took a .500 average in September to get them there.
That's how average works (and total points and average points are obviously the same thing when everyone plays the same number of games).
I like the general idea of rewarding high points with significant money, awarding the big playoff spots to high points winners and allowing H2H winners to compete for money in a league playoff.

Hello. My name is Lee Scoresby. I come from Texas, like flying hot-air balloons, being eaten by talking polar bears and fantasy football.

Okay, so I was lying about that part about Tom. Sometimes you just feel like deflecting responsibilities to someone else!

Again Gordon, I see your point on this, but as long as we are playing head to head (which Greg & Tom prefer), the head to head winner has to receive more than the best points.
If you change the system, fine, but Greg and Tom are IN CHARGE, and they like a head to head system.
WHY.....can't the best record (or top league winner) go below $5,000????? Is there a written rule that I missed, or is it something that is your opinion? I personally think making a 1st and 2nd place prize a little closer would draw even more people. I mean look at you Gordon, before accounting for all your time and effort, expenses in Vegas, etc. you made a total of $250 on your entry fee (before the playoffs of course!) That doesn't seem like it is worth the time to me, but I won my league, so it is a moot point for me!
As far as my points, I can't remember EXACT numbers, but I know I was over 160 (4) times, my lowest was a 102, but I was normally over 130 for the majority of the season.
My team lost a few key players for weekly stints (Roy Williams, Brian Westbrook, Fred Taylor, Onterrio Smith) and a few for the season (DeShaun Foster, Reche Caldwell), but I drafted a lot of depth, got a little luck, and that is why I am where I am.
Your team appeared to be healthy all year long (minus Westbrook) and that is what it takes to get here. You have a good team Gordon. Smith going down really helped out, picking up Droughns, etc. Your achilles heel for the playoffs (like mine) is at QB, because Brady can't run with the Manning's, Culpepper's, and McNabb's in this 3 week stretch. (I doubt Brooks can either, but at least he is always behind!)
Good luck in the playoffs!
