How Would You Rank These WR Duos?

Post by Tom Kessenich » Mon Jan 23, 2012 7:57 am

Let's look ahead to next season and specifically with a few teams that have a pair of standout fantasy wide receivers. If you were drafting today, how would you rank the these WR duos?

Green Bay
Greg Jennings
Jordy Nelson

NY Giants
Hakeem Nicks
Victor Cruz

Pittsburgh
Mike Wallace
Antonio Brown

Dallas (let's go three here)
Miles Austin
Dez Bryant
Laurent Robinson

Atlanta
Roddy White
Julio Jones

Honestly, and I hope my bias for the Giants is not throwing me off, I woudl rank them:

Nicks/Cruz
Jennings/Nelson
White/Jones
Austin/Bryant/Robinson
Wallace/Brown

I think you will see Nicks/Cruz and the first duo drafted in 2012.

After what Cruz did this year and again yesterday, it's obvious that Eli trusts him as much if not more than any other Giants' receiver. His numbers this year were amazing, but Nicks is an elite receiver. That being said, who do you take first among this duo in fantasy drafts next year? And how close do they go together on fantasy draft day?

Romo Roulette AND Romo Roulette has the best TE of this group too!

But for the duo I like Nicks and Cruz just edging out Roddy and Predator.

Ummmm, what about Santonio, Plax, and Kerley?
I'm hoping it was just an honest oversight.

I would go three deep with the Giants too. Mario has hit the board recently and those three look like they are all on the same page and having a blast right now. I think duo wise, it is close between them and the Falcons combo.

No matter how you rank them it's a pretty darn good list of wideouts who are going to be fun to watch for the foreseeable future. Not to mention another 15-20 really talented kids who just need someone to get the ball to them. Combine this talent with absurd rules and you have a pretty wide open NFL game.

Note: I can't believe you didn't mention the Bears stellar trifecta of Bennett/Hester and Knox? Is there a core that is worse than them?

Seems the Steelers are gonna go back to running the football with most likely Jim Caldwell taking over as new offensive coordinator. Ben Roethlisberger wanted Arians to stay but I guess Tomlin bringing in his old buddy. I think this is very stupid if they indeed change back to a running game and waste the weapons they have now in today's passing NFL. Could definitely push Ben, Wallace, and Antonio Brown to the bottom of this list.

I may not have phrased my question very well so my apologies for that. I didn't mean how would you just rank them compared to their teammates but how would you rank them overall? How many of them do you consider to be elite WR1s and so forth? If you were drafting today, how would you rank these WRs?
