I'm surprised this hasn't been built up more as the idea has merit. Yes, it's still a random drawing, but as KJ Duke stated earlier, he got the No. 1 pick in the NFBC and HATED it. Let's say he now can grab any position and he chooses 4. Now he's happy. One way to make this happen would be to have everyone list their preferred draft positions before the leagues are formed and once the leagues are formed we go right down the preferred lists of 1 through 14. Now you at least have SOME say in where you are drafting.

Again, there is still a chance of random drawing involved here and lots of work to do on our end after the leagues are formed, but it's a step away from just RANDOM drawing of draft spots. I'm surprised there's not more support for this one as it's one small step toward giving each owner a little say in where he/she picks on Draft Day.Let's take it a step further, Greg. You could actually fill in the leagues in each city based on draft position preference. You might have to do it in the order that people sign up and pay but it could work. You know of several teams who would probably drive to Wisconsin to personally hand you the $1250 in cash to get their draft spot.

Interesting that #13 is best, but #12 and #14 suck. Interesting.

Something is strange with the 13 slot. If we ignore that slot, the correlation coefficient between slot and score is -.52 which is indeed a real correlation. 0 would be no correlation and 1 (or -1) would be a perfect correlation.

[/QUOTE]Agreed, when the other slots are randomly sampled relatively what you'd expect (with things like Deuce's injury being shared between numerous slots as he was taken at different points) the #13 slot is statistically improbable.

So, which superb performances can be given to the #13 draft slot? Curtis Martin top of round 2? Culpepper?

Has to be a 2 or 3 player impact at that position... I don't have time, but can anyone pull out the top 5 picks of each #13 team and see where the intersection occurs? Gotta be the Pepper Effect?

LV League 1: Culpepper, Chris Brown, Warrick Dunn, Eric Moulds, Peerless Price.

LV League 2: Torry Holt, Kevan Barlow, Steve McNair, Tiki Barber, Javon Walker

LV League 3: Domanick Davis, Brian Westbrook, Tony Gonzales, Warrick Dunn, Rod Smith

LV League 4: Kevan Barlow, Brian Westbrook, Santana Moss, Joe Horn, Aaron Brooks.

LV League 5: Daunte Culpepper, Kevin Barlow, Tiki Barber, Laveranues Coles, Deion Branch.

LV League 6: Kevan Barlow, Travis Henry, Tiki Barber, Eric Moulds, Rod Smith.

Common denominators are Barlow and Barber, with two teams having Culpepper. Honestly, it looks like all six owners excelled later in the draft.
