Greg, moving FAAB to Sat. night would decrease the window of time between acquisitions and setting starting lineups. If you're away overnight or are busy Sun. morning, it might be a challenge. Keeping it on Fri. gives us more time.
Again, I don't think there are extenuating circumstances often enough to turn this upside down each week.

Again, I don't think there are extenuating circumstances often enough to turn this upside down each week. That's exactly why we run FAAB on Friday night. Just looking for feedback if that still works best for everyone.
I agree, it's been that rare instance when something happens to warrant another pickup after Friday night. Our new setup makes it very easy to add 10 Conditional Bids if needed for a defense or kicker so that you're not shut out there. The NFL could cancel another game on Saturday night because of a hurricane, but I would hope that Goodell learned his lesson there and will react better before a Saturday night.
But keep the feedback coming. It's all welcome.

Again, I don't think there are extenuating circumstances often enough to turn this upside down each week. ...I agree wholeheartedly here although I'm still smarting at taking those double goose eggs in both of my Main leagues two years ago because of that cancelled Week 2 Houston/Baltimore game ...imho, in extenuating circumstances such as that, FAAB should re-open for Saturday pickups only...GK
I think we all have to remember that it was Mr. Goodell who cancelled that game on Saturday afternoon, leaving it tough for any national fantasy contest to open free agency that evening without EVERY member getting the notice. Again, I understand the desire for the addendum, but my hope is that the NFL will never wait that long again to cancel a game because of weather. He knew what was approaching and that game could have been moved to a new location easily, but nobody wanted to lose the gate from that home opener.

I have to agree with CC. I wonder if even ONE NFFC owner (not counting those who quit later in the season) ever is too busy on a Sunday morning to check latest football news and double check lineups.
Having said that, I gave my feedback. I hope to get feedback on my feedback...lol

- GREG, I WILL TELL YOU THIS. YOU MAKE A LOT OF RULES CHANGES BASED ON THE INPUT FROM A SELECT FEW IN THIS LEAGUE..Dont' take this the wrong way but i see alot of ass kissing with the jules mcclains of the world he billy wazz's and thats fine they earned respect in this league, but there are lots more of us out there which really are the majority... i love the idea, it's a great proposal..
It's spelled McLean, not mcclain.
Loved the ass kissing I got when I questioned the Special Teams scoring! Yep, Greg & TK sure know how to pucker up!
No supplemental free agent draft. too messy. moving deadline to sat nite makes sense though. More people have time on saturday to review things rather than rushing home on friday after work.
And BTW, I think Jules McClain was the star in all the Die-Hard movies

Prefer friday status quo for faab, more time to review lineup decisions.

Looking For Feedback On Extended FAAB Period
I think that moving the FAAB period as close as technically possible to the start time of the first game of the week is in the best interest of the player.
For weeks when the first game is on Sunday, I say move the deadline to "late" Saturday night. We are playing for thousands of dollars here, why not allow the players to gather every tidbit of info they can before they make these critical decisions?
If a player is away or busy Sunday morning, that is their choice. This is High Stakes FF, not a home league where bragging rights are on the line. No offense meant but I think the rules in these leagues need to cater to the diehard players. The bar needs to be set high and we deserve the opportunity to have as much info at our disposal when making the weekly roster adjustments.
------------------
If the process were to stay on Fridays, I would have no problem with a FCFS bidding process if there is a minimum $$ per player that would force players to spend and manage their funds. I would say a $50 minimum per player.
------------------
For the Diamond League I think the FAAB process should be a live auction every week. Too much money on the line to not make this process as "pure" as possible.
>> Teams would take turns nominating players based on "1st to Worst using Total Point" to date.
>> The bids would take place in real time.
>> The process would end when no more teams choose to nominate.
The benefits of this system are obvious so I won't bore you with the reasoning.
Arguing against because of the time commitment necessary, then don't put 10K on the line.
No, I am not playing in this league but I think this twist would add to the game and set it apart from the rest.
The live bidding process could be open to the public, generating interest and buzz for the league. This could be broadcast live each week on Sirius.

Rob, as far as The Diamond League goes, I'm all for exposure of that league. But, Live Auction FAAB wouldn't work for me. It would be very hard to set aside the time to do that on a consistent basis week in and week out for me due to the nature of my job.
Also, I like my non-winning bids to be anonymous, I don't want to tip my hat so to speak for the next weeks FAAB.
