FF Unscientific Poll

Mine are, in order of importance:

1. Competition (since I did play for free at some point)
2. Money
3. Respect from peers (as opposed to recognition or bragging rights)
4. Love of NFL
For Players. By Players.

Interesting

I play because of all the Fantasy Football babes hanging out around on draft day who dig guys who are into Fantasy Football!

Seriously,

Competing with others who are taking it seriously and consider themselves in the expert category. (Money is required to be involved so you can weed out the pretenders and insure everyone takes it seriously).

I will never get rich playing FF ($100,000 is not rich). I can find lots of things I like to do ... even more than FF. So it's competing against the "so called" best ... and winning. Thats the draw for me.

Good Thread Snake:

I have played as many as 140 Softball Games in a year, traveling to Florida, Texas,New Hampshire, NY, Virginia, Maryland and South Carolina.

I've played 45-50 Football Games in a Year, and about 30 Basketball games.

I have 4 kids, my wife shut down all that traveling. So now I play FF to.
1-Be competitive
2-Talk trash with other competitors
3-Win as much money as possible (good point above about getting rich)
4-I like the "being right" aspect of it about players
5-A new one. Promote the website I work so hard/happily on.

Snake,

For me I just love football. Always have always will. I will watch football to the day I die. If There is no football to watch during the season I will spend time playing Madden football On playstation.

Fanatsy for me has just made football even better. I do agree that money does bring out the best of us and makes anything you bet on more interesting. But I could care less about the money.

The only thing that the fantasy part has taken away from me is watching my Dolphins. I don't know if it's from Marino leaving or trying to keep up with my Fanatsy rosters...lol But I used to be glued to all the dolphins games....

so I would say-

1-Love of Football and fantasy
2-Money
3-Playing against the best guys around the world

So #1 on your list is my biggest reason. Take away the money and I have ZERO interest in playing. Imagine playing and no prizes were at the end of the carrot. The only thing worse than that is losing $ every year. I can't even imagine that feeling Too bad!

I have a passion for the NFL and enjoy trying to predict how the individual teams and players will perform in any given week and over the course of the season.

My ego is what drives me to play in these higher end contests. I too had local success and wanted to see if I could hang with the Pro's. Time will tell if I can do that and if not, I will work even harder to try.

1) The NFL and FF itself / Fun Factor(I would play for a slap in the face if that was the only game in town and that slap was the grand prize)

2) Feed my ego (prognostication skills/armchair QB or whatever you want to call it)

3) Money/Investment (I really wanted to win the 100K and now I need to do it again)

4) Comraderie / Playing vs the best or craziest depending on how you look at it (also classifies under ego too)

5) Maybe you will read about this one in the near future?

Snake, I agree with Quick 6...

I play this game because the NFL is the greatest sport man has ever invented. (Gladiator days may be a close second, but in today's world, I don't see that being accepted since if you lose, you die...LMAO)

To have a part in every play of every game is a brilliant way to keep a diehard NFL addict even more interested. I play because it's fun. It's a hobby where I don't have to be out of the house except for the draft day(s). It's a game I play for the fun of it, while getting the chance to win loot, ca$h, bucks...etc...While getting recognition and bragging rights against some of the best fantasy players in the country.

*I do agree though..If the money factor was out, I would be too.

First off congrats on winning the NFFC!!!!Never really said Congratulations to you....

Im pretty sure you have proved yourself in high stakes fanatsy football by winning the $100,000...And being the only Single Owner to win the Main event....

Curious how many other NFFC leagues have you won?

I'm hoping for a trend of single owners winning!!!

Including WCOFF...I believe Rob is the only non co-managed team to date. Not 100%.
