You may be right. I just think it is odd that if it is THAT bad why would they not place him on IR and open up a roster spot? especially when they are so thin at QB as it is.
Ps. If Janikowski is the first kicker taken next year and it happens in the 10th round will people snicker and roll their eyes? That guy is unreal. I'd never take a kicker that early. As good as Janikowski is, you can win big with a solid kicker. Plus you can typically find quality production at that position on the WW. Dan Bailey this season is a great example of that. I say hold off on kickers and defenses and target the skill positions instead - even if you're simply trying to target a flyer with some upside.

Tom,
I agree on kickers. I know. was just making a point about the 50+ fg's every week..
Next football question. Why can't other teams do what Brady and Welker do? Is Welker the only smaller quicker WR who can play in the slot and find soft spots in a zone? How are other teams not capable of having a drive sustaining type player like that?
Blows my mind.
Also shocks me that defenses (even the Jets and Revis) can't take that away and force Ocho Cinco and a TE to beat you instead of letting the Pats go up and down the field via Brady to Welker week after week.

And I said weeks ago that Wes Welker was an elite WR. Some people scoffed. Well, I'll go even further now and say he's starting to put together a Hall of Fame career. The guy is damn good. He may very well be the greatest slot WR in NFL history.
So why can't teams emulate what the Patriots are doing? Because most teams don't have players anywhere near as good as Brady and Welker.

Is it time to totally bail on the Denver backfield with Tebow at the helm? I hold both McGahee and Moreno in a league and am a bit depressed over it.
How about Larry Fitz? Do yo still believe? Do you buy low in the non NFFC leagues?
Thanks Tom.

Thanks Tom. I wouldn't bail on McGahee although Tebow could definitely vulture TDs. But McGahee's done well. I've never cared much for Moreno. In a smaller league or one with tight roster limits, he's very droppable.
Fitz is a stud talent. Despite playing with arguably the worst QBs in the league last season he still caught 90 passes. Kolb is struggling but he's a major upgrade over what Arizona had last season. I think the Cardinals need to spend the bye week working with Kolb on trusting Fitz more and devising ways to get the ball to Fitz. He was WR11 in the NFFC last season. I think he'll be no worse than a lower-end Top 10 WR this season. I wouldn't give up on him.

How about ranking these TE in order of preference from this day forward.
Olsen
Winslow
Pettigrew
Gresham
WR
Jacoby Jones
Doug Baldwin
Antonio Brown
What's up with Harvin? I thought he's be doing more and will Garcon continue to be a WR2?
Thanks.

I wasn't very high on Harvin this season. Love his talent. Didn't like the situation around him. This is pretty much what I expected. The Vikings badly need more talent at WR and McNabb has little left at QB.
As far as the rankings, I'd go:
Olsen
Pettigrew
Gresham
Winslow
Baldwin
Brown
Jones

Tom, is Derrick Mason a viable fantasy pickup? A lot of teams took a flier on Jacoby Jones after the Andre Johnson injury and even before and he has proved nothing. He's a wasted pick like Bernard Berrian.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Thanks! I agree about Jones. He simply can't be trusted after repeated failures to prove he can be a starting WR. I wouldn't go overboard with Mason but I think he's worth grabbing if you have the roster room to spare. It can't hurt to take a shot and see what he can do. As I posted, the Texans badly need WR depth even with Andre Johnson healthy. Mason's production has been in decline and it's possible he's done. But as Hines Ward showed last week, there sometimes is life in those veteran legs and with bye weeks hitting you never know where production may come from.
