If in serious contention, decisions on line ups may change last second based on what other high total teams have for line ups. That is the part I am most interested in. Not being able to see the actual scoring live is more fluff..... nice fluff as it was put ...yep - we really do have to AT THE VERY LEAST SEE THE OPPOSING TEAMS STARTING LINEUPS WHICH WE (OR MOST OF US) ARE SIMPLY UNABLE TO DO RIGHT NOW!...SIMPLE!!!...the **** with Live Scoring at this point, man...GK
Snake, that's all well and good that you have your priorities on the technical issues to the point that you you can say the **** with live scoring.

However, why do I believe if the lineup accessibility issue is resolved and the live scoring isn't, you'll be the first to mention it on the boards tomorrow at 1:05.

That's not to say we don't want to improve the product for everyone who takes part. We'll continue to work hard to do that. But the statement above makes no sense to me. Sorry.
I'm going to be absolutely honest here Tom. The NFFC has the best format of any contest out there. You and Greg have been great over the years. Because of those reasons you have gotten a lot of passes this year with many of the problems that have occured. I don't think you want me to start a laundry list of the things that DIDNT go well here.

Most of the problems were things that might be incovenient but we could live with them. The problem here is that this is a MAJOR issue and neither you or Greg came on the boards to say that we wouldn't be having a championship bracket this year. It all comes about in a thread like this.

But to make matters worst both of you guys have gotten on great customers of yours in this thread because they have voiced their displeasure. Now that really upsets me! Maybe you guys should take a step back and ask yourselves if it's reasonable for us to expect to have a championship round to follow the other teams lineups and scoring. Sorry guys, I just don't get it.

For me, this is definitely taking the fun out of the championship round. Maybe everyone here is being completely unreasonable. Maybe we all have too high of expectations. My partner in the NFFC said he could make a spreasheet and update it in between games so that we know who is winning. Then he asked, why aren't they doing this? I couldn't answer that.

Sorry guys but I'm really struggling with this one. Feel free to bash me too if you want.

I'm playing with you Snake, don't take it so personally. That said, I will be monitoring your posts tomorrow. ;)

On the Russ issue, I'd have to agree with Russ, Billy, & Wayne here. A customer has a right to give his viewpoints on a product on that product's website. I often read customer reviews when planning a vacation, buying an appliance, subscribing to a website, whatever. If that product wants only positive reviews, improve the product.
Maybe I'm mistaken, but it seems to me since the earliest of satellites this year, you and Greg have been taking bullets?! It seems that the programmers have been playing catch up all year. I'm sure it's just my erroneous perception.

I did take part in a live satellite that ultimately had to be done via slow draft style, partly on this MB. I'm still not happy about that, but I decided to write it off as the first year of the Fanball/NFFC marriage.

I have to wait until Tuesday to see results without calculating them myself for the DC I am currently leading. That, to me, is a source of frustration, but again, I have written it off as "growing pains".

I'm sure it has been a successful year for Fanball/NFFC, I just haven't felt the excitement and I apologize for that. I'm sure it's just me.

That, for me, are the reasons I stated what I stated.
I have to agree with Russ on all of this.

The fact is, it seems like the PLAYERS have had to request a lot of things this ENTIRE YEAR that either should of been done or are things that the NFFC has had in the past and didn't (or still don't) have.

The IT department has been a nightmare from the word "go", and it would be nice if some of them (or dare I say Ryan himself!!! ) could come on here and explain some things, rather than having a liaison (Greg or Tom) doing it.

That being said, I have always applauded Greg and Tom's efforts in making this a fun contest. :D
well put russ and billy. and by the way this is frank , not snake. you have already bashed me so i guess im safe here now.

Wayne, I will share the work load if you guys want to work together to deliver a spreadsheet to inform the troops?

I figure 4 minutes per team and an extra hour to format, I could be done in 16.5 hours by myself.

70 + 41 + 125 = 236 teams to "grab". At 4 minutes each to grab, place and format, that should only take me just over 15 hours to finish the rosters. Plus the extra hour to format.

Oh yeah, you all have to PROMISE not to change your lineups before tomorrow. If all of you agree, I will get to work.

I am on my way to Starbucks for a 6-pack of triple lattes just in case we get the 236 necessary responses.

I think it's been a great year but if you guys don't feel the same way that isn't good to hear. At no point did I say your complaints weren't justified nor was I diminishing the point of this thread. I'm sorry if the NFFC experience hasn't been what you and others thought it would be and I'm sorry if you're upset.

The key is "Vlookup." It really could be done in just a few hours not counting lineup changes. (Plus we would only do the primetime! :D )

The bulk of the time would indeed be copying all the lineups and pasting them into Excel. Couldn't the Fanball programmers write a SQL query from their database and export the results to comma-delimted format? Then as Wayne said, it's just a matter of using the vloookup function against the stats at the end of the day.

I'd be willing to help out (and I'm not even IN the playoffs). But not if I have to manually copy/paste all the lineups.
