Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue May 15, 2007 9:38 am

We're honored to have the Z-Men back for a third straight season of NFFC action as Robert Zarzycki of Hewitt, New Jersey will be joining us for the main event at the Flamingo Las Vegas on Saturday, Sept. 1st. Robert led his SportsBuffPub.com team to an 8-5 record in Las Vegas League 3 last year, placing 146th overall with 1,565.6 points. In the Consolation Round, Robert finished 44th with 633.59 points. Robert has an accomplished track record in high-stakes events and he's the author of the book Winning Fantasy Football. Welcome back Robert and best of luck this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Nehul Patel, also of Hewitt, New Jersey, will join his buddy Robert Zarzycki in the NFFC's main event at the Flamingo Las Vegas on Saturday, Sept. 1st. Neh and Robert led their SportsBuffPub.com team to a ninth place finish last year in the Las Vegas $650 Draft Champions League, but this year Neh is grabbing his own team in the main event. It was good to have Neh in the NFFC for the first time last year and it's even better that this year he's joining us for the big dance. Welcome back Neh and best of luck in the hunt for this year's $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We're glad to welcome our newest member of the growing NFFC family as John Reuss of Toms River, New Jersey will be joining us for the NFFC's main event at the New York Hilton on Saturday, Sept. 1st. John is new to the NFFC, but he's a veteran high-stakes fantasy football player. RAIDERS checked out our boards during the off-season, got a good feeling about our event and signed up after a series of questions via e-mail with me. John apologized for asking so many questions, but trust me it wasn't nearly enough and I'm glad he feels good about this year's competition. Welcome aboard John and best of luck this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize. I'll even make sure that Tom buys you the first round of drinks in Manhattan!! ;)

We're glad to welcome back another original member of the NFFC family to the 2007 event as James Mack of Delaware Water Gap, Pennsylvania will be joining us at the New York Hilton on Saturday, Sept. 1st for the main event. James had his most successful season to date, earning $2,500 in New York League 6 with a 9-4 record, leading the league with 1,808.30 points and placing 10th overall during the regular season. His Fleetwood Macks team then placed 5th overall to win another $1,250 by finishing the Championship Round with 593.75 points. It was a great run for the $100,000, James, so congrats on a solid season. Welcome back this year and we wish you best of luck once again in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Okay, back to the signups again as I'm falling behind and not showing all of the daily signups. Just for the record, with 100 days until NFFC Draft Day we have over 100 teams signed up for the main event and ready to go. More to come, for sure.

Let's welcome back another original member of the NFFC family as Chad Silverstein of Columbus, Ohio will be returning to Las Vegas for the NFFC's main event and the Ultimate Draft League. Chad will be joined by co-manager Steve Wise this year as he returns to the Flamingo Las Vegas. Last year, Chad was limited to the NFFC Ultimate League because he had a wedding to attend on Saturday, but this year he will be in both events. His Silverwise team finished 6-7 last year in the Ultimate League and just missed the playoffs with 1,511.75 points. Welcome back Chad and best of luck in the hunt for the $37,500 Ultimate League prize, the $5,000 league prize in the main event and the $100,000 grand prize.

Chas McHaffie of Rancho Sante Fe, California was a first-time member of the NFFC last year and he admits he had a BLAST during his debut season. He's coming back to Las Vegas again this year and will once again compete at the Flamingo in the NFFC's main event and the Ultimate Draft League. Last year, Chas led Team McHaffie to a 9-4 record in Las Vegas League 5 and just missed a money finish by placing fourth in his league with 1,596.45 points. Team McHaffie placed 126th overall in the regular season and 19th in the Consolation Round with 664.51 points. Team McHaffie finished fifth during the regular season of the Ultimate League with an 8-5 record and 1,586.7 points and then lost a tough one in the first round of the playoffs. Welcome back Chas and best of luck this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, the $5,000 league prize and the $37,500 Ultimate League prize.

Let's give it up for the arrival of a first-time NFFC main event participant -- but a veteran NFFC player -- as Chris Slack of Peoria, Illinois will be joining us on Saturday, Sept. 1st at the Flamingo Las Vegas. Chris competed in three NFFC satellite leagues last year and is currently competing in an NFBC Satellite League. His 2-Step Diamonds team finished 9-4 with 1,516.15 points in a $500 league and now he's ready for the big dance. You can always count on Salvatore Vella joining the NFFC as Sal usually sends me an e-mail when I send out updates that say something like "of course I'm back. Sign me up." I love it. Sal will once again be returning to the New York Hilton on Saturday for the main event. Last year his Big Blue team finished 6-7 in New York League 4, placing 221st overall with 1,493.65 points and 100th overall in the Consolation Round with 593.05 points. Welcome back Sal and best of luck this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.
