Who's Coming To The 2007 NFFC And Where?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Mon Jun 11, 2007 4:49 am

Lewis Lightfoot of Weatherford, Texas is one of only a handful of NFFC owners who have won back-to-back main event league titles and he's actually done it every year he's competed in the NFFC. Lewis joined our event in 2005 and won Las Vegas League 2 and last year he led his Texas Crew team to another league title and $5,000 by winning Las Vegas League 6 with an 11-2 record, placing 30th overall with 1,729.45 points. Lewis then made a good run at the $100,000 grand prize as Texas Crew finished fourth in the Championship Round with 597.54 points to earn another $2,500. Congrats on another great, great season Lewis and welcome back to the main event in Las Vegas and the $650 Auction League with Steve. I know you don't need it, but we wish you best of luck in the hunt for this year's $100,000 grand prize, $5,000 league prize and the $4,000+ in Auction League prizes.

This is their first venture into our live high-stakes event and we welcome them with free gifts and free drinks. Welcome aboard guys and best of luck in the hunt for this year's $100,000 grand prize and $5,000 league prize.

It does my heart good to welcome back one of my better drinking buddies and sportsbook gambling buddies during March Madness as Rick Thomas of Bozeman, Montana has agreed to return to the NFFC in Las Vegas on Aug. 31-Sept. 1. Rick is an original member of the NFFC and NFBC families as he's joined us twice a year in Las Vegas since 2004 and this year he will be competing in the main event at the Flamingo Las Vegas and the $650 Draft Champions League, along with several Satellite Leagues. Last year, Rick's RapTors finished fifth in the $650 Las Vegas Draft Champions League with 2,473.35 points and his IL FORNOCATORS team went 7-6 in Las Vegas League 1, placing 139th overall with 1,579.0 points. Welcome back DECISIONIST and best of luck in the hunt for this year's $100,000 grand prize, $5,000 league prize and $4,250 Draft Champions League prize. Oh, and get ready for some fun in Sin City with yours truly as we bet on anything that moves in the sportsbook on Saturday and Sunday night!! :D

We now have 13 owners signed up for the $650 New York Auction League with one guaranteed spot left. I think we have a good shot at filling two auction leagues in the Big Apple this year, but don't take a chance on that if you definitely know you want to compete in this. Grab that final spot now if possible.

Okay, our newest member of the growing NFFC family is Celestino Concepcion of the Bronx, New York as he will be competing on Friday, Aug. 31st at the New York Hilton with his son, Joel. Celestino has worked the NFFC events before and comes highly recommended by Diesel, which is good enough for me. Welcome aboard Tiny and best of luck in the hunt for this year's $4,000+ in Auction League prizes.

We're glad to welcome back another original member of the NFFC family to the 2007 event as Bill Opiola of Mosinee, Wisconsin will be joining us for a fourth straight season at the Chicago Oakbrook Marriott on Saturday, Sept. 1st. Bill led Skipps Bowling Center to a 6-7 record last year in Chicago League 5 and placed 170th overall with 1,547.35 points. Skipps Bowling Center then finished 94th in the Consolation Round. Billy works with a good group of guys just down the road from us at Krause Publications and he's always been a great supporter of the NFFC. Welcome back Billy and best of luck this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Let's give it up for the tag team of Craig Yanover and Michael Stonesifer of Dallastown, Pennsylvania as they will be returning to the NFFC's main event at the New York Hilton on Saturday, Sept. 1st. We now have 14 owners for the New York $650 Auction League with plenty of time to fill up a second league in the Big Apple. Let's give it up for the return of NFFC veteran David Deterra of Jamestown, Rhode Island as he has grabbed the 14th spot in the Auction League and the 11th spot in the New York $650 Draft Champions League. Last year, AB led Team Deterra to a ninth place finish in the New York Draft Champions League with 2,340.35 points and he competed in the main event. The side events in New York are filling up fast as we welcome another owner to the $650 Draft Champions League at the New York Hilton on Friday, Aug. 31st. Aaron Smith of Wakefield, Rhode Island returns for a second straight season of competition as last year he led his RI Connection team to a fifth place finish in the New York Draft Champions League with 2,487.65 points. Aaron may be signing up later for the main event, too, which we'd all like!! ;) Welcome back Aaron and best of luck in the hunt for this year's $4,250 Draft Champions League prize.
