Who's Coming To The 2007 NFFC And Where?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Wed Jul 11, 2007 3:51 am

We now have 24 teams for the Las Vegas Auction Leagues as we welcome a defending league champ this year. The tag team of Ryan and Justin Heider of Twin Falls, Idaho won the $650 Las Vegas-Chicago Auction League last year as their Fantasy GM x2 won three straight playoff games to win the league title and $3,350. Their Fantasy GM x2 team went 6-7 during the regular season, but earned the third seed with 1,615.6 points, before turning it on during the playoffs. Great job guys and welcome back this year. Oh, and best of luck in the hunt for the $4,000+ in league prizes.

Who's Coming To The 2007 NFFC And Where?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Wed Jul 11, 2007 5:35 am

We now have 14 full leagues (196 teams) for the main event thanks to the arrival of another NFFC veteran. Let's give it up for Ted Baehman of Deerbrook, Wisconsin as he has signed up for the main event at the Tampa Convention Center on Saturday, Sept. 1st and he becomes our sixth team in Tampa for the $650 Auction League. Ted has now drafted in three cities during the last three seasons, having joined us in Las Vegas in 2005 and Chicago in 2006. He led Team Baehman to a second place finish and $1450 in the Chicago Auction League last year as it went 7-6 and earned the fourth seed with 1,626.6 points. Team Baehman then won two playoff games before losing in the title game by a mere 2.15 points. Team Baehman also went 9-4 in Chicago League 2 of the main event last year, but just finished out of the money as it placed 155th overall with 1,558.8 points. Welcome back Ted and best of luck in the hunt for this year's $100,000 grand prize, $5,000 league prize and $4,000+ in Auction League prizes.

We're now working on our 15th league for the main event today as we welcome back another original NFFC team for 2007. Let's give it up for the tag team of Richard and Michael Duewel of Moline, Illinois as they will be joining us at the Chicago Oakbrook Marriott on Saturday, Sept. 1st for the big dance. Their DAWG N HAWG team struggled with all kinds of injuries last year as it went 3-10 in Chicago League 6 with 1,452.6 points, but it's good to see the duo come back for more this year. Welcome back guys and we wish you better luck this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We now have 13 teams for the New York $650 Draft Champions League as we welcome an old and reliable face back for 2007. Let's give it up for the return of Eddy Betancourt of Woodhaven, New York as Eddy is back for a fourth straight season of competition. The former partner of Diesel who even has an NFBC main event team battling for $100,000 is back for the DC at the New York Hilton on Friday, Aug. 31st. Last year, his Bagglers team just missed the playoffs in the ultra close $650 New York Auction League as it went 6-7 and finished with 1,425.1 points. Welcome back to the DC Eddy and best of luck in the hunt for this year's $4,250 league prize.

We're closing in on 200 signups for the main event thanks to the return of another NFFC veteran to the big dance in Las Vegas. Let's give it up for Silas Dain of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada as he will be coming to the Flamingo Las Vegas on Saturday, Sept. 1st for his second NFFC main event. During his debut season, Team Silas finished third in Las Vegas League 4 with a 7-6 record and 1,691.2 points. He won $500, but he missed second place and a spot in the Championship Round by a mere 0.7 points, placing 47th overall. Wow, solid season Silas and we wish you best of luck in the hunt for this year's $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Let's give it up for the tag team of Bob Dorsey and Sam Mance of Plymouth, Michigan as they will be competing in the NFFC's main event on Saturday, Sept. 1st at the Flamingo Las Vegas. Bob and Sam have competed in other high-stakes football events and like the NFFC's league format and 3RR so much that they're joining our event this year. Welcome aboard guys and best of luck in the hunt for this year's $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We're at an even 200 signups now for the NFFC's main event thanks to the return of another original NFFC and NFBC member. Let's welcome Jason Steeves of Calgary, Alberta, Canada as he has signed up for the main event, the $650 Auction League (although he's leaning towards the $1,300 league) and the $5,000 Ultimate Auction League. We're now at 6 for the Ultimate Auction League and a few others have also expressed interest in this one, so let's keep the momentum going there. Jason had a solid NFFC season last year as his CANADIAN BEAVERS finished second in Las Vegas League 7 and won $2,500 as they went 7-6 and finished 34th overall with 1,719.90 points. The BEAVERS then finished ninth in the Championship Round with 572.2 points. The NFFC WHALERS then earned the first seed in the Las Vegas Auction League and won $650 by finishing with the best record at 10-3. But despite finishing with 1,720 points, the WHALERS lost both playoff games, losing by just 0.25 points in the third place game. Still, great, great season last year Jason and best of luck this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, $5,000 league prize, $4,000+ in Auction League prizes and $40,000+ in the Ultimate Auction League.

We're at 13 owners in the New York $650 Draft Champions League on Friday, Aug. 31st as we welcome our newest member to the growing NFFC family. Brian Hanson of Wellesley, Massachusetts will be joining us at the New York Hilton for the DC League as a first time participant after reading about our event and liking the 26-round format. Brian sent a lot of questions my way via e-mail and it's obvious he has a passion for fantasy football. Welcome aboard Brian and best of luck in the hunt for this year's $4,250 Draft Champions League prize.

We're now at 13 owners in the Chicago $650 Auction League as David Dorman of Deerfield, Illinois will be joining us again at the Chicago Oakbrook Marriott on Friday, Aug. 31st. David was an original member of the NFFC in 2004, but he's been limited to satellite leagues the last two years because of family and work commitments. We're glad to have him back live and in person and wish him the best of luck in the hunt for this year's $4,000+ in Auction League prizes.
