Who's Coming To The 2007 NFFC And Where?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Thu Jul 12, 2007 3:36 am

We're now over 200 teams for the main event thanks to the return of our "first family" in the NFFC. Let's give it up for the best looking husband-wife team of Bret & Nancy Borg of Mesa, Arizona as those Wildcat die-hards will be joining us at the Flamingo Las Vegas for the fourth straight season of action. Bret and Nancy will again be competing in the main event and the $650 Draft Champions League. They won the DC league in 2005, but their Wedded Blitz team just missed the money last year as they placed fourth in LV DC1 with 2,506.7 points. Their Wedded Blitz team also just missed a money finish in the main event as they went 7-6 in the ultra competitive Las Vegas League 7, placing a solid 50th overall with 1,684.9 points. Wow, and that wasn't even good enough for fourth place in LV7. Welcome back my good friends and best of luck this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, the $5,000 league prize and the $4,250 Draft Champions League prize.

We now have 14 owners for the New York $650 Draft Champions League on Friday, Aug. 31st as we welcome Glenn Schroter of Whitestone, New York to the Big Apple. Glenn is already signed up for the main event and the Ultimate Draft League and he grabbed the last spot in the DC league before we filled up that first league. Glenn's King of Queens team finished 10th in the New York Draft Champions League last year with 2,317.25 points and Glenn is promising a money finish this year! :D Welcome aboard Glenn and best of luck in the hunt for the $4,250 DC League prize.

We're starting our fifth main event league in New York today thanks to the arrival of a defending NFFC league champ. Chris Vaccaro and Joe Digalbo of Staten Island, New York joined us for the first time last year and they led their Greenwich St. Tavern team to a title and $5,000 by winning New York League 1 with an 11-2 record. Greenwich St. Tavern placed 101st overall with 1,615.15 points and then placed 40th in the Championship Round with 480.45 points. Chris and Joe are now taking separate teams in the New York main event at the New York Hilton on Saturday, Sept. 1st. I'll officially welcome Chris right now and wish him best of luck in the hunt for this year's $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize. Joe's signup is coming soon.

Okay, it's official: The Divorce is in! :D Joe DiGalbo of New York City will be taking his own team in the NFFC's main event on Saturday, Sept. 1st at the New York Hilton after helping to lead the Greenwich St. Tavern to the New York League 1 title in 2006. Joe and Chris Vaccaro had a great debut season when they won $5,000 and now both owners are grabbing their own teams, which is great for the NFFC. Joe said he had a great fantasy football season in 2006 as a few other teams won titles, so he's extra excited about the upcoming 2007 season. Congrats again Joe and best of luck this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

It's good to get so many veteran NFFC members returning in 2007 as we once again welcome another money winner from 2006. Let's give it up for Cedric Kolstad of Mesa, Arizona as he will be joining us again at the Flamingo Las Vegas for the main event on Saturday, Sept. 1st and for the $650 Auction League on Friday, Aug. 31st. During his debut NFFC season last year, Cedric led DaKolts to an 8-5 record in Las Vegas League 5, placing third in the league ($500) and 88th overall with 1,623.25 points. DaKolts then finished 14th in the Consolation Round. Welcome back Cedric and best of luck this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, $5,000 league prize and $4,000+ in Auction League prizes.

Okay, it's time to catch up on our weekend of signups as I was out playing golf yesterday and missed these. Sorry! ;) We're closing in on our seventh full league in Las Vegas for the main event thanks to the arrival of our newest NFFC member. Robert Mihulka of Mt. Morris, Michigan was a co-manager in our NFBC event in March and he had so much fun that he decided to schedule a trip to Las Vegas over Labor Day weekend and grab his own NFFC team. Robert will be joining us at the Flamingo Las Vegas for the NFFC's main event and we wish him all the best of luck in the hunt for this year's $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We're making a push for the $650 Auction League in Tampa as we now have seven owners signed up, or half of the league. Let's keep 'em coming and fill up this league in Tampa. Let's give it up for the tag team of Scott and Lori Katz of Lakeland, Florida as they became our seventh Auction League team in Tampa. This is their first venture into our high-stakes events and we welcome Scott and Lori with open arms. Welcome aboard and best of luck in the hunt for the $4,000+ in auction league prizes.
