Who's Coming To The 2007 NFFC And Where?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue Jul 17, 2007 11:16 am

We're working hard on getting two Ultimate Leagues this year and the momentum keeps going as today there were two signups for the Ultimate Draft League. The first one came from Greg Paley and Pat Depirro of Chappaqua, New York as they are entering the NFFC for the first time. Both have been successful in our NFBC competition and it's good to have him in our big event for football. Welcome aboard guys and best of luck in the hunt for the $37,500 in prizes here.

We're glad to welcome our newest member of the growing NFFC family to the 2007 event as David Burgos of New York City will claim home field advantage this year at the New York Hilton on Saturday, Sept. 1st. David is new to our high-stakes format, but is excited about competing in the NFFC's main event for the $100,000 grand prize. I promise you a good time on Draft Day David and a great season-long competition. Thanks for your trust and support and best of luck in the hunt for this year's $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We now have seven full leagues for the main event in Las Vegas as we welcome NFFC veteran Rob Dilger of Columbus, Ohio for the main event. Rob competed in the NFFC Ultimate League last year as he had a scheduling conflict on that Saturday and led his Salty Crackers team to a 5-8 record and 1,406.1 points. This year he's diving back into the main event and joining us at the Flamingo Las Vegas on Saturday, Sept. 1st. Welcome back Rob and best of luck in the hunt for this year's $100,000 grand prize and $5,000 league prize.

Jason Steeves of Calgary, Alberta, Canada has become our 19th owner to sign up for the Draft Champions Leagues in Las Vegas as we'll definitely have two of those at the Flamingo this year. Jason is already signed up for the main event, the Auction League and the Ultimate League and the DC gives him the perfect weekend: The NFFC Quadfecta. Last year he led Team Steeves to 2,131.65 points in the $650 Draft Champions League and this year he's going for a better finish. Welcome aboard Jason and best of luck in the hunt for this year's $4,250 Draft Champions League prize.

We're working hard to fill up our fourth league for the main event in Chicago as we welcome another veteran NFFC team. Let's give it up for the tag team of Jeff Schinker and Damon Nirode of West Allis, Wisconsin as they'll draft at the Chicago Oakbrook Marriott on Saturday, Sept. 1st. Jeff and Damon led their Whizzinators team to a 7-6 record in Chicago League 4 last year, just missing a money finish in that league. The Whizzinators placed 96th overall with 1,618.25 points during the regular season and 81st overall in the Consolation Round. Welcome aboard guys and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We're starting our eighth league in Las Vegas for the main event today as we welcome another original member of the NFFC family. Let's give it up for the tag team of Jim and Jared Pieper of Longmont, Colorado as they will be returning to the Flamingo Las Vegas on Aug. 31-Sept. 1 for the $1300 Auction League and the main event. We now have nine teams for the $1300 auction league in Las Vegas, leaving us with only five open spots left. Last year, Team Pieper won $1250 in the Las Vegas Auction League as it led the regular season in total points with 1,770.55 points. Team Pieper had a first round bye, but then lost its next two playoff games, but it was still a solid season. In the main event, Team Pieper went 3-10 with 1,527.8 points. Welcome back guys and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, $5,000 league prize and $8,000+ in auction league prizes.

It's great to welcome back another defending league champ as the tag team of Dennis Rielly and Thomas Macaluso of Charlotte, North Carolina are back for the main event in 2007. During their debut season in 2006, Dennis and Thomas led Team Reilly to $5,000 and the title in New York League 7 with an 11-2 record, as they placed 12th overall with 1,789.45 points. Then in the Championship Round, Team Rielly finished 18th with 535.85 points. Congrats on a great, great debut season guys. Dennis and Thomas are currently signed up for New York, but they may switch to Tampa. No problem with either site guys and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We're glad to welcome another new member of the growing NFFC family as Michael Blawat of Muskego, Wisconsin will be joining us for the main event at the Chicago Oakbrook Marriott on Saturday, Sept. 1st. Michael is a veteran fantasy football player who actually has bought some property up here in Iola and he stopped into our offices last month to talk about our event. We had a great discussion and Mike finally signed up for the NFFC after clearing out his new home up here on the lake. Nice. Welcome aboard Michael and best of luck in the hunt for this year's $100,000 grand prize and $5,000 league prize.

We now have 16 full leagues or 224 teams -- the same amount we debuted with in 2004. We hit the magic mark with the return of NFFC veteran Neil Hassett Jr., who has decided to draft in the main event this year at the Flamingo Las Vegas. Neil has competed in New York the last two years, but this year he's going to Las Vegas with co-manager Mike Hall. Last year, his BALLS DEEP team had no luck in the h2h matchups as it went 4-9 in New York League 5, but it just missed a money finish by 3.10 points as it placed a very strong 97th overall with 1,617.25 points. BALLS DEEP then placed 21st in the Consolation Round for a solid finish. Welcome back guys and best of luck this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.
