Who's Coming To The 2010 NFFC In New York?
We are excited and proud to bring the NFFC to a really cool venue in New York this year as Citi Field will be the host for the Sept. 3-5 New York event. We hosted our baseball event -- the NFBC -- at Citi Field in March and it was a big success. Not only did we get a great turnout, but we were featured on the Wall Street Journal's web site with many of our owners interviewed in the piece. Here's the video if you are interested:

Now we want to make our football players stars in New York. Yes, we know this is a baseball stadium, but we have some promotional plans cooked up with the Mets that should make this fun for everyone. First of all, our Saturday main events are in the Acela Club down the third base line and everyone will have a great view of the field as they are drafting their teams. We'll have food and beverages at the event for the participants and after the draft we'll create an area with the boards where we can analyze and dissect what just took place. Should be fun.
On Friday we have the Promenade Room for the Auction Championship and the Draft Champions Championship, again overlooking the field from the third base line. Food and beverage will be provided during those events and we should have a lot of fun there. Anyone who wants to compete on Sunday in the Ultimate or Super Leagues will work with Tom as we'll likely get a hotel suite for those private leagues in the New York area rather than do those at Citi Field. But we'll make that special as well.
Look for more announcements soon on New York as we're working on something special with the Mets that would involve all early signups. Stay tuned because this really could be a lot of fun.
Okay, I've created this thread to allow my New York drafters a place to smack talk, get together, plan gatherings, whatever. I'll update the signup thread with each new signup so that you'll know who you have to beat to win the $100,000 grand prize. We've had only one NFFC Classic champion out of New York -- Tom Yates in 2008 -- so let's see if the Big Apple can produce another one. Let's get it on in New York, all!!
Oh, and Tom is your host in New York, so get ready to enjoy the night life in Manhattan. Beer bong is on the way!! Here now is the list and let's keep adding to it:

Who's Coming To The 2010 NFFC In New York?
Just so there's no confusion, it's beer pong, not beer bong.
My beer bong days are definitely in the past.

Where is there a place to play beer pong in the city? Or are we doing that in the hotel suite? LOL

Who's Coming To The 2010 NFFC In New York?
We're off to a good start in New York already with some solid NFFC veterans, and today we added our first industry tag team. Gregg Rosenthal and Rick Cordella of Rotoworld.com finished fourth in the NFFC Consolation Round last year and will be joining us at Citi Field for the NFFC Classic on Saturday, Sept. 4th. It's always good to have these past NFFC league champs with us as Gregg is one of the top football writers in the industry.
Welcome back guys and let's get in the CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND this year.

We're glad to welcome another new member to the growing NFFC family as Michael Ciszek of Northport, New York will be competing in the NFFC Classic for the first time with us. Michael is a long-time Fanball and CDM player who heard about us through Fanball and jumped at the chance to compete with us at Citi Field on Saturday, Sept. 4th. Welcome aboard Michael and I promise you'll enjoy competing with this group. Oh, and best of luck in the hunt for the $5,000 league prize and the $100,000 grand prize.

Scott Newman is also on board now with a 4-Pack in New York, but he's going to be handicapped this year because the brains of the operation, his 11-year-old daughter Alexxa, may not provide as much input as she did in 2008 when the team finished second overall in the NFFC Classic. Alexxa, who was the star of the WallStreetJournal.com video (!!!), is more interested in making money as a facilitator than helping dad!! She's among the best, so Tom is putting child labor to work!! Thanks Scott and thanks Alexxa. We'll have fun again at Citi Field this September. And keep those NFBC teams chugging towards money finishes.

Are there any hotel discount deals in the works for NYC?
I will be totally lost in that area, and am not seeing many appealing deals for places to stay so far.
But i love the idea of drafting in a newer professional sports venue, and look forward to the overall experience. The other NYC venue was clean, the workers there were great, good service for sure, but i always considered it too dark, kind of cavelike, and knowing that we will be on the 3rd base glass should give the feel of light and happiness.
