Lag, I'm not sure who this very successful, "hardcore" NFFCer is that you're referring to, but I also joined the WCOFF this year, and as you know, not all that quietly. Now, Silly Waz, Ugly Yellow Toenails, TURDOUGH, I absolutely agree with you cats, as I don't see going anywhere else in the high-stakes world and being treated better then Gregorio and Tomás treat all of us here. They are without a doubt, a true class act. That being said, I haven't personally had any negative experiences with Emil, Lenny, or the WCOFF system as of yet. Not saying others haven't. My point is, I'm there for one reason and one reason only, the same reason that I'm in the NFFC.....to crush a** unmercifully. Now, if you put a gun to my melon and told me I could only be in one event, the choice would be simple, I'd roll with the NFFC, and Greg and Tom, period. However.....I'm going to stick my d**k in as many hot apple pies as I can. NFFC, WCOFF, AFFL, Satellites, Local League, etc., etc. Just out of curiosity, how many of you monkeys lurking these boards are in both the NFFC and WCOFF?

I don't think it's my place to "out" anyone who may not want to be "outed" - this wasn't my intention. I just think it was ironic. Although it is public information, for those really interested.

Actually, I wasn't thinking of you. Are you a very successfull NFFCer too?No Sag, I didn't think you were referring to me, was just curious as to who it could be. I'll have to investigate the matter further. Poncho Droughns.....hmmmmmm, that has a nice ring to it. Maybe I can convince the Missus to let me put another one in the oven, that way I can name it Poncharello Rudi Droughns Pérez.

Gotta KNOWWWWWWW!
One thing Sport......he wanted to fine me $100 when I posted a message on the board when he had told me not to. When I didn't pay within 1 week, he increased it to $125.
I would have sent him a cucumber and told him to stick it up his a$$!
Trying to fine you????? Again, just proves they are ALL about the $$$ and nothing else!
Lenny doesn't keep the fines he gives them to charity. Don't know what TURBOUGH did but you cannot threaten people on that board. Last year 2 people(teams) got fined 500 apiece for both threatening and insulting remarks about their families. If you don't pay the fine you can't be in the main event.Lenny probably doesn't have as much patience with people as Greg but I've been at that draft for 4 years and they all have gone off without a hitch.

I have nothing against and have nothing bad to say about the WCOFF (maybe a few cracks about some of the customers on this MB ... and maybe a few cracks about 12 team leagues ... but it's obvious the WCOFF is doing some things right!).
Can't see leaving here to go over there. Do you know of anyone who has left the NFFC for the WCOFF?

My co-manager and I are thinking of signing up for the NFFC this year and some of what has been written on this thread is hilarious. We have been wcoffer's from year 1 and last year did a satellite league with nffc. One of the advantages to the nffc for us is living only 15 minutes from the Chicago draft.
Just a few opinions on some of the comments -
14 vs 12 teams - I don't know what makes that so much more challenging. If you want a real challenge, try EFS's format (not a competitor to either event) 16 team league, 53 man roster, play ALL positions, goes on all year.
They charge an events fee - Yes, it's an EVENT! Most of the players go for more than just the draft.
Too low of a payout percentage, they make too much on the satellites, etc. I don't know of anyone in business that doesn't want to make money. The market determines what can be charged. This is America, and philanthropy comes after profits. If you don't like the payouts look elsewhere, but to be indignant about it is silly. None of you, with the possible exception of this league's founders, have any idea what costs are to run this type of business.
Poor customer service - never experienced it. Just the opposite. But again, the market will determine if they are not serving their customers properly, just as most of you feel Greg and Tom take excellent care of you here.
For those of you that couldn't believe Lenny had fined/banned people for message board crap, I found today's earlier thread a perfect example of what they don't put up with.
I can't recall any nffc bashing on the wcoff boards. Both events are different enough and it would seem well-run to the point that it's senseless to compare one to the other as being better. That's why there's vanilla and chocolate.
Lastly, are you required to talk about yourself in the third person on these boards? That scares me.
