I know Peyton is ranked around 10-12 right now (and if he plays, i would rank him there too), but I don't think I could draft him that high. More like 16-18 given the huuuge health risk he is. There were 12 QB's already taken when I grabbed Peyton. I hear what you're saying, but when I missed out on my 2nd tier I decided to go risk/reward.
I know there were much safer choices out there, but I didn't think they had the same potential upside. Once the last of the high caliber QB options were off the board, in this format against competition this brutal, I didn't think I had a chance to win if I went with one of the safer but likely less productive remaining choices. I decided to go big or go home. Win big or lose big, I guess the rest doesn't really matter.

Through 6 rounds:
Round 1: M Forte
Round 2: D McFadden
Round 3: S Jackson
Round 4: Tony Romo - Was a little surprised (and pleased) Romo was available at 4.09 (pick #51) He was the 8th QB taken: I have him ranked higher.
Round 5: Ben Roethlisberger - The 11th QB taken. The combination of Romo/Roethlisberger should provide me with one of the top 4 or 5 QB scoring teams. And I'm reasonably protected if one of them misses time.
Round 6: Jonathan Stewart - :Wasn't anticipating taking another RB here, but imo Stewart, by far, represented the best value left .In 2011, he clearly proved he was the best RB in Carolina. He scored 194 points with only 4 rushing TD's. Anyone that believes Newton will score 14 rushing TD's again in 2012 might want to consider changing their smoke. In hindsight, if I had anticipated being able to get Stewart with the 79th pick I probably would have gone WR in round 3.
Roster through round 6:
QB: Romo
QB: Roethlisberger
RB: Forte
RB: McFadden
RB: S Jackson
RB: J Stewart
Also, Wayne has informed WR's are NOT optional.

Billy - Your team has a solid start. I would be happy (today) with those first 6 picks.

I have the 5th pick.
1) Aaron Rodgers - was fantastic for me in this format last year. To me, I don't need a second QB for a long, long time, unlike many of these other teams who already have 2 of them.
2) Darren Sproles - In a ppr format, his 86 receptions last year was tremendous. I don't see his usage changing in that offense next year.
3) Rookie #1 - This pick will be Trent Richardson. I think the RBs for the draft next year is terrible, so I'm going to take the RB who is clearly the best back and in the draft and see where this falls. Maybe he comes back to me in round 4, but I don't trust this group of sharks. I'm taking the guy I WANT.
4) Antonio Brown - Only getting better. I can see him being the shorter reception guy and catching at least 80 balls. I really liked what I saw out of him last year as he improves quickly.
5) CJ Spiller - While his RB situation is clearly unsettled with Fred Jackson, this pick is about explosion . He proved himself over the last 6 games last year.
6) Torrey Smith - Another WR clearly on the rise. I like his chances for 4-5 big games.

Two comments...
1) Welker at 1.14 is a steal. This guy should have gone in the top 3.
2) I really can't believe that Peyton Manning is gonig to play again. I know for sure if it was me, I'd walk off into the sunset, into Canton as one of the greatest players ever, and be done with it. Once we get past his $28 million bonus date (believe it's 3/1/12), this situation should look more clear.

thru six rounds
QB - Eli Manning - I think he's making the turn to elite status. Just shy of 5000 yards, cut int's from 25 to 16, and one of the best receiving corps in the NFL. Stability at TE and RB could get him an MVP next year.
WR - Calvin Johnson, AJ Green, Dwayne Bowe - My first three picks (not planned), but "they are who they say they are". CJ's the best. Aj had a phenomenal rookie season, hopefully he and Dalton grow together (ala Stafford and CJ). Bowe is still young enough and with Cassel or Orton he can produce. Getting Charles and Moeaki back healthy will only help.
RB - Roy Helu, Mike Leshoure - too early in a draft to be gambling on upside? but then again, it is February. Both of these guys could be the man for their respective teams. Never know in Washington with Shanahan, but Helu showed promise late. Everybody was high on LeShoure last year before the injury, if he recovers, Iook out for Detroit this year.
