Pay League Results: Very Interesting

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue Jun 02, 2009 4:27 am

We've had three NFFC pay leagues in the last week and the results are very interesting. I'll post the first six rounds randomly of each this week so that folks can see some of the trends that are happening right now. But for now I'll post some interesting aspects from the three drafts here:

** First pick: Three different players went first in the three pay NFFC leagues: Adrian Peterson, Matt Forte and Maurice Jones-Drew. Peterson went 1,2,2, Forte went 1,2,3 and Jones-Drew went 1,3,4.

** Larry Fitzgerald: He went 4th, 8th, 12th. Wow.

** Brian Westbrook: He went 4th, 11th, 12th.

** RBs: One league saw 12 RBs go in the first round. Another league saw 11 straight RBs go in the first round before the next six picks were WRs. And the third draft had 10 RBs and 4 WRs going in the first round.

** RB-RB: How many teams went RB-RB to start out? 3 in one draft, 4 in the other, 3 in the other. Teams that started out WR-WR? 2, 3 and 1.

** Where did Tom Brady go, one week after appearing on the cover of Sports Illustrated? 28th, 22nd and 20th.

** The top rookie so far? Denver RB Knowshon Moreno, who has gone 42nd, 41st and 41st. Chris Wells follows in the 66-70 range.

That's a quick look at these leagues. If you have any questions on others, feel free to ask here. I'll post some results soon enough as we try to keep each individual league confidential by doing them all at once.

If Brady went in the 2nd round where did Brees and Peyton end up being taken?
Surprised the RB-RB 1-2 is still prevalent!
Seems RBs are going by players personel preference, as in the case of Westbrook, I've seen him going 10 + and here 4th, big wide variety of choices in the rookies too.

Some intitial thoughts...

Interesting that one team went Rodgers/Rivers in the 3rd/4th rounds. Great tandem, but will it cost them elsewhere?

Knowshon Moreno in the 3rd seems high, but maybe this team knows something?

Addai in the 5th is a direct result of Tom bashing him on these boards. I think he represents very nice value there!
2008- Didn't finish last overall in the Classic.
2009- Didn't finish last overall in the Classic or Primetime.

Yep, 3RR didn't seem to hurt Team ! :D

Knowshon at the end of the 3rd round doesn't seem too high to me.

Tad surprised by Rodgers in the 3rd, but it is a DC and he was good to fantasy owners last year.
