What am I missing here - I wish I had 1 or 2 stupid owners in my league. Heck, I'd take 13 of them if you all don't mind.
Dave DYV...
say you finish second in your league.. and the guy ahead of you got TWO wins thanks to careless owners who started players on byes, or with injuries... and ultimately handed the guy who finished ahead of YOU 2 wins... would you see how such a thing could "effect standings?"
you said "i wish i had some dumb owners in my league"... why did you say that? because bad owners effect the standings in the rest of the league.. especially in a leauge like this where we are competing (for total points and the big prize) against guys from different leagues... i know my league (ny 5) has nothing but strong owners... i do not remember hearing one pick at the draft that made me scratch my head... everyone was ready with their pick, we were done first. bad owners do effect standings.
i think we who are really into fantasy sports are always in a constant mode of trying to make the games better... i am sure we have all been in heated "dump trade" debates... in a league like this.. where everyone plays everyone once within the league.. and playoff teams compete against each other OUTSIDE their own leagues, but rosters and points carry over... league strength and equity do matter... i keep hearing about some bonehead moves some owners made in a couple of these las vegas drafts... that DEFINATELY gives an advantage to the stronger teams in those leagues...
maybe a rule could be put in for when someone is starting a player on a bye... where the league starts a backup on their roster for them if someone calls attention to the mistake prior to games.
or, since the league has our credit card numbers... there is a $25 fine for anyone starting a player on a bye.. money to go into the league prize fund.. something like that.. (i am just brain storming and gave these ideas 4 seconds of thought..lol).

Now, now, Vegas. Not everybody in LV3 is a lost cause. Just me.
[QUOTE]Why do I always seem to attract these types of people??? Halladay guy... my league, drunk guy... right next to me in the draft, obnoxious guy no one likes... GG (sorry, I thought it was funny). Can't wait to see who I attract next year.9/QUOTE]
I'm sure your mother never told you you'd grow up to be like the people you hang out with.
And Dimeo needs to take it like a man. I lost to Team Gekko this week in the invitational by.6 because Favre gets a concussion and Wilkins misses a 33 yard FG. No sense jumping off a bridge in Week 4, just wait for next week.

Renman,
I can actually address that in a real life example from last year. Myself and another squad were battling all year for the league, both were one and two in points however one team had the fortune of playing a team two weeks in a row that left various studs on the bench (A Green etc) and thus won games he should have lost and almost took the spot from one of us that deserved to be in the LCG. Point is as I would have been on the outside looking in and in addition to losing what little hair I had left due to the stress, I still considered it part of Fantasy Football. You can't place streams of rules to offset every possible outcome else the event may lose some of its fun. It's these variables that make FFL what it is, exciting and often unpredictable in my opinion.

Dang, this is why I hate laptops because of that fricking mousepad. As I was saying I moved up to ninth in the overall and I see you've moved up to sixth. The only team that can catch me point wise tonight in LV3 is Team Gekko as he has his poster boy, Gonzo, going tonight.

Renman, before you start bragging about NY5 and dissing the LV leagues, check the bottom 25. I see 3 NY5 teams down there so for you to say your league is nothing but strong owners is a stretch in my opinion. I think every league has its fair share of good and bad and lucky and unlucky owners.

As for having Hassleback in a bye week, well many of us who own Hassleback are afraid to sit him figuring he's due to bust out at any moment...maybe this owner was in the same boat...
