I'm in for a live league in Vegas, although I don't know which weekend I'm coming yet for this year. I would actually like to see this concept taken even one step further, back to the early days of the NFFC when ALL the leagues were live and we had a shotgun start at the exact same time at all venues. That way everyone drafting in all leagues in the contest have the exact same information available to them before drafting. There would be no random advantages to anyone due to pre-season injuries, suspensions, etc.

Everyone's schedules make that tough to do, honestly. I mean, back then we only allowed live drafters and we did them on that Saturday of Labor Day weekend. That's not the ideal weekend, as we all agree. And there are other competitors in the space now, so saying the Saturday just before the opener excludes New York live drafters and makes it tough on those owners who are already in one of our contests at that time or another contest at that time. I'm not sure all at one time would work, to be honest.

I hear ya though. This has a good feel to it and maybe we are underestimating the demand for this. Maybe 180 teams was a low estimate. We opened Registration 5 minutes ago and already have teams signing up. We're excited by the response.

We think this concept has a lot of merit. We know that multiple entries for most of our national contests will never change, but having that one alternative where everyone gets one bullet makes a ton of sense. Let's set the trend and do this right. Thanks all for the great early response.

And yes, we'll add one or two live Silver Bullet drafts in Las Vegas as well. Now finding the right time to do it is the next job because it's busy, busy, busy in Las Vegas. But we'll get them on the schedule for sure.

There are so many THANKS that need to go out after hosting this year's live and online NFFC events that I don't know where to start. And I promise that once I get my feet solidly on the ground again that I'll get to all of them.

But I have to stop everything I'm doing right now and start with the NFFC Silver Bullet and all of the folks who participated in the industry's only single-entry, season-long contest. This was a great idea and it arrived at the perfect time in the industry. All of the contests in the industry are catering to more teams from more owners -- including ours -- so the Silver Bullet is so unique and so needed that you wonder why somebody didn't do this sooner.

A BIG THANKS goes out to those who first presented this idea to us. And yes, this was an idea that first came from our customers, guys like Shawn Gundy, Billy Wasosky, Frank Mammola, Jeff Clampitt and the rest of the "posse." They contacted Darik in late December with the idea and Darik presented it to myself and Tom. I liked the idea, but I was worried that the guaranteed prize pool wouldn't be enough to attract 180 unique owners. But we put the plan in place and presented it to the NFFC in early January with the hope that we could break even or maybe even sell it out.

In fact, we even tried this idea in baseball, but it fell flat to those owners who didn't want another 12-team national contest. We were disappointed, but forged ahead in football and we kept the faith even when signups were slow through July. We just knew that if we could get a few early leagues rolling that the demand for those final leagues would pick up, and sure enough, it did.

Again, this was an idea that was first presented to us by our die-hard players, similar to the Draft Champions National Championship that KJ Duke pitched to me, and the Kickoff Gridiron League that KJ also pitched to me. The best ideas come from the paying customers and then it's up to us to create a workable prize pool and make sure we hit the guarantees. That's the beauty of this tight-knit community.

I have to admit that no contest was talked about more to me at the live events than the Silver Bullet. So many players who had already drafted in that format said it was the best draft of the season because if you wanted your guy you had to go get him. And that was the case for every owner in that draft because nobody had a second chance to get their guys in this format. That made for the most competitive and most interesting draft of the season. Every single person said they would be returning to that format next year and they expected many more players would be joining it too.

It's great to get that kind of feedback and we concur that this format has legs. We're going to try it again in baseball in 2020 in a slightly different format and we'll do all we can to show the merits of this single-entry format to our baseball friends as well.

At a time when some contest operators are going for as much volume as possible with more teams from fewer owners, we continue to try to grow with more games. Nobody else has six national contests with six guaranteed prize pools. We do that because we like the different formats that we can offer and it's also a great way for more people to win more money and more titles. Nobody else offers national contests in 10-team, 12-team and 14-team formats and we'll continue to expand those horizons with new games when needed. Heck, the NFFC Guillotine leagues are even 17-team leagues, although they don't have national prizes. We continue to expand and evolve.

Anyway, my first BIG THANKS goes out to the customers who presented this single-entry idea and to the 180 owners who took a leap of faith in this format. I think we're all going to benefit from this new creation and I hope it continues to evolve and expand. Thanks all and good luck.
