I didn't see Renman and Billy's posts while typing my last one.
But yes guys, I AM wondering how many main events Glenn has done.
Renman, I also would be interested in Lifetime Overall Success of players. Maybe Greg can compile that? Or if he can send me the data, I'd be glad to crunch the numbers, maybe show each player's % in the money, as well as % of league championships, runner-ups, etc.. Afterall, who is the better player - the one who is batting .300-500 in cashing but has never won the $100k or the one who has been in 20 leagues over the years but only cashed once (for big $)? Hmm...

Glenn, just to clarify, did you have only ONE entry per main in these? Also, did you have other teams that you didn't fly solo with but had a partner? Also, your signature states "Champion". The list you provided above only states "playoffs". Which of these years did you win the league title too?
I apologize for hijacking this thread. Maybe it's time to start a new one on this interesting topic? People can come in and post their records until we see if Greg might wish to provide more detailed data. Maybe this format?
Year Event Reg. Season Pts/H2H Playoffs Pts/H2H
2009 Classic 1st/2nd 1st
Primetime 2nd/1st 1st
2008 Primetime [I don't recall exactly, but due to injuries to our 1st four draft picks, we didn't make playoffs]

One other clarification... even though head-to-head is a big component of competition, we are all painfully aware of how much luck is involved in that. For example, in our Classic last year, the 8th highest scorer won the H2H, ick. I certainly wouldn't want to be including that in any lists of "top players".
So I guess I'm much more interested in something like "top 3 scoring teams" in each league than just "who made the playoffs via H2H". Afterall, the best teams are quite simply the ones that score the most points.

OGlenn was also in the classic in 2004 with a partner. Since he didn't make the playoffs, you can see why he didnt mention it (razz).
As for me, I have no problem posting....
o
2004 Classic - 1st (playoffs)
2005 Classic - no playoffs
2006 Classic - 2nd (playoffs)
2007 Classic- 2nd (playoffs)
2008 Classic - 2nd (playoffs)
2009 Classic - 3rd (playoffs)
Am 0 for 2 in the primetime.
I was the top scoring team twice, was the 2nd most points twice, and last year was 3rd in points. Consistency is what has put me at the top of the Lifetime StaNdings (even though I would love more 1st place finishes.)
For the record Sandman, I think you guys definitely belong with the "big boys"

For the record Sandman, I think you guys definitely belong with the "big boys" That is one HELL of a great record Billy! It makes ya wonder when someone has pretty much the best record of success in the NFFC but doesn't win the big $ if we don't have that part of the contest "wrong". I know this has been bantered before, but when the league's top player can't win the big money despite having 5 out of 6 shots, is it perhaps too much based on luck? But I understand that from Tom/Greg's perspective, if too much luck is removed, entries might go down as people realize just how difficult/impossible it is to compete against guys like Billy and others.
Time for a new thread or just keep this one completely hijacked?

Mike, even though Billy has made the Championship Round five out of six years, it's still tough to win the overall from that point on or even finish in the Top 10 overall. Remember, there are a lot of good teams in the Championship Round and Billy or any other owner still only has a 1 in about 40+ chance of winning it all in the early years and now only a 1 in 65 chance (last year) of winning the $100,000. So getting there is the key, but then having the perfect three-week run against so many other very good teams is another matter.
Billy is doing the right thing: Cashing in the leagues and getting in the dance. You can't win additional prize money if you don't get into the big dance, but it's still tough to dance with the queen at that point.
And yes, this discussion should go to another thread. You're treading very close to the edge of a cliff with the BWaz vs. Snake discussion. Let's give both owners a round of applause and move on, if you know what I mean folks.
